I purchased this soap many times in stores - the price is better here. My entire family, especially the kids, had their eyes turn red and itchy from scented bars which are everywhere. Ivory was no longer available nearby, so I had to try this (it was the only unscented bar)and was very pleased. It's not as strong as ivory, much more gentle, although it is more expensive.
Recommended for any allergy sufferers like me.

Admittedly I'm a pushover for new poducts. When a product is introduced with ruffles, flourishes, and many promises I have to try it if it's within my budget.

So, I've wandered far from the Basis fold, trying liquid cleansers, creams and other bar soaps. However, there wasn't a one that cleansed as thoroughly as Basis (two came close but they were very pricey).

Basis is a bargain not only in price but in effectiveness. Granted, it's not the most glamorous bar soap on the market but it does the job. One caution: most will probably also have to use an eye makeup remover.

Have been using only this soap since my doctor told me about in 1972 for my skin condition. I always buy 3-5 bars at one time, I love this soap so much. Lately have not been able to find it. You can't imagine how happy I was to find it on amazon.com!!

i have really dry skin so this is the only soap i use. I also have occasional ezcema and this soap is great for not irritating the skin. Highly recommend for people with dry or sensitive skin!

I must admit, I've tried many other more glamorous soaps and cleansers, but I've never found anything that treats my skin as well as Basis. Actually, to me it seems like a luxury soap, only without the fragrance. It makes a very rich and creamy lather, and leaves your skin feeling soft rather than dry and itchy. My sister has extremely sensitive skin, and after trying other things, she always returns to Basis. It's the only one that doesn't irritate. We're disturbed that it's getting harder to find. Stores that used to carry it don't anymore. We were so glad to see it on Amazon. If they ever phase this soap out (it's been around for MANY years), our family will be in trouble! Hope they listen to their customers. There is one thing that I would love to see, and that would be a liquid soap with the exact same ingredients as the bar.

I was so happy to have the opportunity to try the Basis Soap. Been meaning to try this soap for sometime now. Having tried many different facial soaps, I found the Basis Soap really helps keep my skin feeling clean and clear of breakouts. Having used the bar for only few days, I know now I will continue to purchase and use it. It also makes a smooth lather that's easy to work with. Really enjoyed trying this product and would highly recommend it to anyone fighting breakouts and irregular skin problems.

I thought I would give the Basis Sensitive Skin Bar soap a try. I have very sensitive skin and find that there are very few products gentle enough for my skin. I really liked the soap and I found it to be very gentle. It didn't make my skin burn when I used it -- it practically soothed it. The only problem was that it still turned the skin on my face red for at least 45 minutes after I used it. So if you have VERY sensitive skin and you're looking for a gentle soap to use before bed this would be a good choice.

A dermatologist recommended Basis to me way back in 1947. I have been using it ever since and at age 77, my skin looks and feels healthy and pretty much wrinkle free. It's great.

The soap had a nice smell that wasn't too strong. I have very sensitive skin and I have to be careful what I use on it. Basis Bar Soap didn't irritate my skin. The bar itself seemed to last longer than the sensitive skin beauty bar that I usually use. I would consider buying it in the future.

This product is good for people with sensitive skin. However, I would have liked it better if it had a better scent. The soap itself had little or no smell at all. But if you have problems with breakouts from soap that has too many perfumes and additives, this soap may do well for you.
