Need to find it before it works... UPDATE,

Two big issues. First the battery cover for the remotes is crap. Within just a week the hooks that hole the twist lock cover down broke off. So now that key finder is useless. Second My wife lost her keys so I thought good time to test this out. Started using the remote and had no luck finding the keys. After 5 or so minutes wife started looking again while I continued to use remote. She found them before I did and once we found them I had to get ~1 foot away from the keys before the thing started beeping.
UPDATE 4/30/09: After posting my concerns I have had commication with the company and the have corrected my issues. Turns out there was a design flaw in the original battery covers and has been corrected in a newer key chain. I have tested it around the house and it has worked perfectly in locating the hidden item. My only concern is that they did not update the part number for the product to identify old vs. new product. So you could still end up getting the bad tags and have no way to identify them. But on the possitive side the company was quick to fix the issue which is a major plus in my book. Would make this a 4 Star if I could update that... I would recommend this now as long as you get the updated tags...

EZ-Find..... A real winner!,

On Monday I misplaced my car key....... again. My wife finally located it in a most unlikely place in the basement and by then I was already thirty minutes late for an appointment. The key must have fallen out of my pocket when I removed something else. Right then I decided it was time to get some kind of locator gadget that would put an end to all this foolishness.
I spent the next couple days researching the available products (see note below) and finally boiled it down to two. One was the FOFA and the other the EZ-Find. After some deliberation I ordered the EZ-Find. My decision to order it was predicated on the following: 1. The tags for the EZ-Find are much smaller than any other. That's a big advantage if you've got a couple of them in your pocket. 2. Their web page provided more complete details including video instructions for programming the unit and an Acrobat Reader file of the owners manual. 3. The EZ-Find can be programmed to read out in alpha numeric characters not just numbers. My car key is identified as, "Dons Car Key". After all, if I can't remember where my key is how in the heck am I going to remember what number is assigned to which item. I could make up a list of the numbers and their respective items but then I'd probably misplace the list. 4. With the FOFA, each tag can call any of the other five. If I had two of them in my pocket and one accidentally set off the other in Church or at the theater it would be pretty embarrassing. The EZ-Find, on the other hand, has an on off switch on the tag. After having received the kit, I found the following: 1. Very quick delivery. Just a couple days. 2. Easy to program. I had all tags installed and programmed in about fifteen minutes or so. 3. The tags are light as a feather and don't take up much pocket room. 4. The system works just as good as advertised. I strongly recommend this product for anyone having a penchant, as I do, for losing their "stuff". Note: Yes, I read the review by fellow who claimed to be an ear doctor and a skilled micro-surgeon yet didn't possess the digital dexterity necessary to insert a nickel sized battery in an appropriately sized hole, couldn't see a back-lighted screen that is clearly visible to me and couldn't figure out that one button turned it on and the other two were the Up-Down keys for programming. It appears to me that he might have done better had he read the owners manual before blundering in. It was all in the manual. If nothing else, he could have watched the on-line video which explained it very clearly. Oh, and by the way, I'm a seventy four year old retiree, I had no problems, how come a skilled micro-surgeon couldn't do it? Maybe he should be retired and I should take up micro-surgery.

I was given this product as a gift and just programmed all my tags and I didn't have any problems at all, however, the instructions could have been more clear about how to install the batteries in the tags, but once I got the first one in it was pretty easy. The product is pretty unique. I haven't seen anything like it. My husband bought this for me because I'm always losing things. I'm definitely going to buy more tags for all those items.

This gadget is the real deal. Very simple to program and use. Definitely performs as advertised. What was really impressive though was that initially one of the four 'tags' didn't work. I contacted customer service and in a few days two new tags arrived free of charge along with a handwritten note apologizing for the inconvenience!
My only gripe with the product would be that the adhesive pads used to affix the rf tags to your items could be stickier. It didn't stick to one of my TV remotes, so I actually had to duct tape it.

We have a 2008 Toyota. The car has what Toyota calls a "Smart Key". I lost my keys. It cost me about $350 for a replacement ($90 alone for the programming, i.e. labor). I am constantly misplacing things. I put one of these locators on my checkbook/wallet, my new set of keys, and the case for my Blackberry (if my Blackberry is in the case it automatically goes on vibrate so calling it from another number will not help locate it if it's in the case).
Since I bought this product I've used it to find all three of these items. It works as advertised and I do recommend it. The only complaint I have is that the sound that the finder transmits should be louder. As we age we tend to lose things. For many of us, hearing is one of those things :-).

I bought this after my 19 month old son "hid" the Tivo remote and it took us three days to find it! It seems like a fabulous idea and it does locate well with a good strong signal. The problem I have is that the battery doors on the tags are terrible. They aren't easy to open when you want to open them and then they don't tend to stay closed. They have these tiny flimsy plastic tabs to secure the cover that easily break - the battery falls out - you have to find it and then reprogram. Right now the whole system is sitting in pieces waiting to be reassembled. I guess duct tape will come to the rescue again! I would like this if they spent about 5 cents more and upgraded the battery doors! Right now I regret buying it

This locator only worked when you were within 5' of the tagged item. I returned it. The company was prompt in contacting me about the return and then refunding the money.

GREAT SOLUTION FOR THE ONES THAT YOU LOVE,

I got the E-Z find for my parents. One set for each.
They both love the device. My mother is a very absent minded lady who forgets everything everywhere. She immediately started playing with the tags and planning where she was going to place them. She decided she needs more tags, so I will soon buy some extra ones for her. My father is an Engineer who loves taking things appart (don't they all?). He is beginning to misplace things, so I decided it would be a great gift for him. He loves his new toy! I have not heard him complaining for loosing his things. He now uses EZ-find!!! My only suggestion would be to include the instructions in other languages. My parents live overseas and I had no chance to traslate and program the device for them. It was challenging for them to program their devices on their own, but with the help of their children and grandchildren, they managed. And they feel it was worth it. All in all, this is a great gift for you to give, and a great device for you to have at home. Well done!

Find stuff you put away carefully so you will not lose,

We bought this product to find our 4 bags among 100s of bags on a bike ride where all bags look alike as they come off the transfer truck and are buried in large stacks. It seems easier than it is. The sensors worked very well and it is nice you can add more sensors for the finder. Now that we are home we have spread them around the house on different items like our tv remote or keys that we constantly lose or our phones that we can call if they are charged or not turned off but can be a pain when that is not the case. I would offer a 5 star but I thought the beep was not loud enough sometimes for deeply buried bags and it was muffled. Other than that, it was a reliable product and relatively simple to set-up/program and adjust to new items.

Not worth the money or hassle,
This review is from: EZ-FIND! 25 Item Wireless Electronic Locator (Electronics)
The product doesn't work well - I find my keys well before it beeps. But that's been covered in other reviews. The oddest part is the cost - for $60 you get something that claims it will allow you to keep track of and find 25 items, yet it only comes with 4 (very flimsy and difficult to deal with) tags. And to buy TWO more tags are another $20. So for 25 items, it would be about 300 bucks! And the thing doesn't even work... wow.
