Product Description
When twelve-year-old twins, Elsie and Everest, are forced to attend their uncle's boarding school for clones while their parents are off-world on a secret mission, little do they expect to have a dangerous adventure themselves. The year is 3002, the place is Northern California, and on the surface, thirty-first-century Earth is a virtual paradise with no war, violent crime, homelessness, poverty, or disease. But underneath the pretty façade, greed and deception still exist. Someone at the clone academy is smuggling artifacts from the twenty-first century for outrageous profit. The students are being used as cover for this reprehensible abuse of time travel for personal gain. Elsie and Everest must overcome the clones' initial distrust and dislike so that they all can band together to fight a common enemy. Life gets even more complicated when the Baskers and the clones find they've transplanted a twenty-first-century kid to the thirty-first century. Now the students have to stop the bad guys without irreparably altering history as they know it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of adventure, lots of fun, September 29, 2007
By Faye Reads (California) - See all my reviews
The Basker Twins in the 31st Century is a lot of fun. It's an adventure set in the 31st Century about twelve-year-old twins, Elsie and Everest, who are forced to stay with their uncle at his academy for clones while their parents are away on a secret scientific mission. The clones aren't overly fond of the Basker twins. And there is a villain afoot at the clone academy. It's a lot of fun. Especially appropriate for 8-12 year olds but a great read for the entire family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting read and very creative writing, November 26, 2007
By JZ (California, USA) - See all my reviews
I found the adventures of the Basker Twins very engrossing and made for a very exciting visual read. Kristi Wright is a very creative writer with a vivid imagination of the 31st century that incorporated fun and impressive technology, and yet not unlike today, with people and clones learning to live together in harmony. A very fun, exciting and page turning read for all in the family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book!, October 27, 2007
The Basker Twins in the 31st Century is a great book for school aged kids (pre-teens would love it!) My family really enjoyed the book because of the creative future world, the time travel and the mystery. The characters in the book are very interesting and although in the 31st century they deal with issues kids face today. I also like that much of the profit from the book goes to a worthy cause. Looking forward to the next story in the series!
