Editorial Reviews

Review

"Dave is one of the all-time great shooting coaches. I continue to be amazed at his ability not only to shoot so well but also to teach others to do the same."

Jim Calhoun--Former Head Men's Basketball Coach, University of Connecticut

“Dave is not only the best shooter in the universe, he is also the best shooting coach.”

George Karl

“I never miss an opportunity to work with Dave. He’s the best in the business.”

Kobe Bryant

“Dave has not only helped my shooting, but he improved my overall game. He has given me the confidence in all phases of my game.”

Ray Allen

"He's a great motivator, man, especially when you're out there shooting the basketball. He's very positive, always going to tell you about your mechanics and what you're doing wrong. So his main thing is just consistency, doing the same thing over and over again.”

Carmelo Anthony

I think the DVD and book together complement each other well. Either one by itself wouldn't be enough. It would be a great resource for coaches of middle grade kids. Lots of good ideas for practices are included in the DVD and outlined in more detail in the book. My son believes he will use it on his own during basketball season. It's a good book to own because you can keep coming back to it for new ideas.

I had a chance to meet the author at a local camp. There are not enough words to explain how amazing this guy is! Any player would benefit from the instruction that he provides. The best part of this book is that he takes every shot in the game and breaks down every fundamental skill that is involved with the shot. You may feel like you are reading something that you already know. But just because you know it doesn't mean that you can master it. The DVD is an added bonus. I love that you can read a certain section, study the pictures, but then go to the DVD to see the skill being performed live. If you are ever able to see Mr. Hopla shoot in person, go and watch. Trust me...you will be amazed!!

Just got the book so havent read it yet but did actually met him yesterday at my sons camp. He is an inspiring and amazing speaker. He spoke for over 1 hr talking about the game of Life and the game of Bkb. His message was clear and based on the simple premise that Hard Work and always staying Positive is the key to success. He spoke to us while consistently shooting a Bkb approx 400 times and only missed twice (?) I knew when I left my son he was in good hands at the Hoop Group and even text me the first nite-- thrilled that his foul (ooh negative word, bad) shot improved dramatically. My son never calls home but did that first nite to tell us how excited he was with himself. What more could you ask for. I know for a fact that he will be returning here next summer, heck, I wish I could. So, knowing that this book is coming from him. it's a sure fire WIN. We can't wait to read it. I'm sure you will love him too when you meet the Mr incrediible Mr. Dave Hopla !!!! Check him out, no regrets.
