5.0 out of 5 stars It is not enough to know what to teach, you need to know how to teach it!, December 8, 2009
This review is from: Basketball Skill Progressions (Paperback)
I have gone to more coaching clinics than I can recall where the coach did a great job of explaining the system of play or a series of skills that players need to know. Then the coach asked if there were any questions, time was up, and I was no closer to knowing HOW to teach the concepts I had come to the clinic to learn about than before I signed up for the coaching clinic.

This book is great because it covers HOW to teach skills to basketball players! Of the areas that I see that basketball coaches in general need to improve on, this is the single biggest area of weakness in most coach's professional skill portfolio and the same is true for volunteer youth coaches.

This book will not only show progressions to use in teaching skill but help organize a plan to teach the overall body of skills needed for players to have a well rounded skill set.
