MY EXPERIENCE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
1. PURCHASED THESE THIS CHRISTMAS, (12/09), FOR MY DAUGHTER TO USE WITH HER NEW DSi AND WE WERE BOTH DISAPPOINTED.

2. NO SOUND WAS HEARD THROUGH THE EARPIECES; MAYBE THIS PAIR WAS JUST DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER ASIDE FROM THAT, THEY ARE VERY POORLY MADE; RIGHT EAR PIECE WIRE IS WAY LONGER THAN THE LEFT EAR PIECE WIRE.

3. ALONG WITH THE FACT OF HEARING NOTHING THROUGH THEM, WHEN ON IT WAS LITERALLY RIGHT UNDER,(TOUCHING), MY DAUGHTER'S CHIN DUE TO UNEVEN LENGTH; SHE FOUND IT IRRITATING AND REMOVED THEM RIGHT AWAY.

I'M RETURNING FOR A REFUND BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT EVEN WORTH THE LOW PRICE.

I bought these for both the 'volume control' feature and the in-line microphone. I use my Nintendo DSi for a variety of things -the foremost being language study (as the game softs I own have a Speech Comparison feature).

Here's my experience:

1) Cheap overall build quality ('flimsy' is too kind a word)

2) "Volume Control" is not what it says. It is actually a L/R Balance control that works
intermittently one or (sometimes) both ear pieces. Movement of the wheel results in
additional static, interference and noise.

3) The lines out from the combined "Volume Control" and "In Line Microphone" (in the unit
received) are uneven lengths: one is about 6" long and the other is about 15" long!
Where is quality control?

4) Sound Quality: When the ear pieces were working, the result was pain at a moderate level. This
did not improve at lower levels. I have used standard ear bud headphones with my DSi and the
quality is very good without attending pain. I 'm serious when I say that these could damage
your hearing.

Due to the near universal low quality of these headphones, I believe that they would eventually damage your Nintendo product sometime in the future. Do yourself (and your DSi) a favor and shop for a better product like Nintendo proprietary products or "Skull Candy" -the extra money is well worth it!

With respect to the seller (Gemini Games -Amazon retailer), this seller did an excellent job regarding order fulfillment.

These earpbones are great. I could not believe the difference the stereo would make. I found myself wishing that the DSI had audio output so that I could run
the NEW SUPER BROTHERS DS through external speakers. The music is beautiful.
