5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Original Songs, but..., October 3, 2009

This review is from: Bass Generation (MP3 Download)
I absolutely adore Basshunter in every way, so I decided to buy his new album the minute it came out. Well, it had pretty much everything I had hoped for. Great basslines, deep lyrics, less pop-ish than some of his other songs. It was slightly disappointing because we had already heard Every Morning and downloaded Numbers, and threes songs I don't like (the ones with Lauren, the female singer, and Molly from Stunt), and the Michael Mind edit of Every Morning is terrible, so that leaves 9 songs that I like. And don't get me wrong, I do like them. Here's the list and my personal opinions, hope this helps!

Every Morning- 7/10 I like the song, but it's a little repetitive and not super Basshunter-y

I Promised Myself- 8/10 It starts off pretty weak, but it gets much better. Lyrics not super deep, but a good song to listen to.

Why- 7/10 Not my favorite song. The beginning is awesome, but then it goes all rock-ish. Meh.

I Can't Deny- 5/10 Lauren has an incredible voice, I just don't like it. The beat is good, but it needs a lot of improvement, more bass and a little less repetitive, but it does have good lyrics.

Don't Walk Away- 9/10 Love this song! Amazing sound, pretty cool lyrics! A little strange at the beginning, but in about 20 seconds it gets going!

I Still Love- 8/10 I like this one because it's more like his old songs, which I think are incredible. This song is pretty intense, and I love it!

Day and Night- 9/10 Beautiful in pretty much every way. The bassline, however, didn't really impress, but it's amazing.

I Will Learn to Love Again- 3/10 So it has Stunt. Who cares if it sounds bad? Awful, really! The style is totally not what I'm looking for. The beat is mediocre, but still something I could dance to. Still, not at all what I expected.

Far From Home- 10/10 SUPERB! FABULOUS! I absolutely ADORE this song. Listen to it every day at least 3 times. Amazing, beautiful, intense, just get it! Exactly what I was looking for!

I Know U Know- 7/10 It's not a bad song, but it really doesn't stand out to me like Far From Home or Day and Night. It's okay, worth buying I definitely think, but not the best.

On Our Side- 5/10 Lauren. Should say it all. Very repetitive and pretty annoying. Not special really.

Can You- 9/10 Absolutely fabulous bassline, best in the entire album, great sounds and beat. The lyrics are pretty good, but a little...rap-ish. I still love this song! Extremely impressive!

Plane to Spain- 7/10 This song is funny if you know what it's about; Tetris. Entertaining and great beat, some pretty good sounds, but not super great.

Every Morning (Michael Mind Edit)- 0/10 Hate this one. Don't buy it. Slowed down, stupid sound, lyrics even sound worse. This song is absolutely terrible.

Numbers- 6/10 Sounds very much like a ringtone. It's pretty ingenious, however, and very cute. I like it even though it's not new.

Overall, this album impressed me in some regards and lacked in others. It's definitely worth buying because of its extremely danceable beats and superb basslines, which I could dance to all night. You can tell a lot of work went into this album. BUY IT!

I bought this CD for my brother who loves Techno/Electronic music. He's crazy about it. I've listened to it while studying, and it makes me read twice as fast! Good to run/jog to, and most songs sound mostly different from the previous.

I like his music...in my opinion he is a better DJ than Tiesto.
Looking forward to some more of his work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite a Solid Work, February 7, 2010

I would certainly hope that those who buy this album are looking for the Eurodance/"Techno" style, because that is exactly what Basshunter provides in his new album. That being said, the album is definitely worth a listen.

My one major criticism is that the lyrics are almost blatantly stupid. I know that it's tough to ask for meaningful or at least well written lyrics from pop music, yet Basshunter's lyrics (for the most part) are just horribly written.

So, a solid album, good music, badly written lyrics. Not too shabby, on the whole. Enjoy!
