Since my favorite brand, the Unlisted from Kenneth Cole, has not been on sale for awhile and Bass is a known brand, I've decided to give the Bass Abilene Oxford a try. The price was good. The shoes look very nice. However, the insoles are so thin causing the upper Quarter to rub against the back and side of my ankles when I am walking. After one day of walking I had 2 open wounds around my ankles. To get around this, I had to spend $15 on Dr. Scholl's insoles. When and pull the Bass insole out, I notice that there were no cushion. It was just a thin piece of leather placing of top of the wooded-bottom of the shoe. After putting Dr. Scholl in between the bottom of the shoe and the piece of leather, the shoes are much more comfortable now. Maybe some shoes require external insoles. I just never had to do this to any of my previous shoes.

I bought a brown and a black pair of these shoes when I saw them on an Amazon lightning deal around Black Friday. I figured I was getting an awesome deal, but once I received them, I realized that was not the case. As another reviewer mentioned, they have a strong petroleum based odor that made me keep them away from my bed so I wouldn't smell them at night. I really only wore them for one day because the top of the shoes cut into my ankles. I sent both pairs back and have yet to get anything else.

I don't usually buy shoes online, but this 2-for-1 deal seemed too good to not pass up. I got one black pair and one brown pair. Unfortunately I had to return both. The black pair had some stitching that was coming loose towards the tongue of the left shoe. The brown pair had a discoloration on the right shoe; it kind of looked like a dark yellow spot. Had no problems with the return and refund process -- was worth it to attempt the purchase.

Shoes are high quality. They were shipped fast and per advertised. They are taking a bit to break in, but most high quality shoes need break in time.

These bass oxfords are very cheap quality. They have a very pungeant petroleum odor to them. I have worn them approximately 10-12 times and the fake leather is already cracking where the shoe wrinkles when you walk. Pay a little extra and go for a better quality shoe. If you wear dress shoes 8 hours a day then these are not for you.

I also purchased a brown and black pair last year during the Black Friday sale but I just started wearing them. I do not recommend the shoes for the exact same reasons as the other posters. They cut into your heel and they smell really bad. I was hoping the smell would go away but it hasn't (about 2 weeks). I have to keep them in the hall because the smell is still so strong. Just wearing them and sitting down in a chair lets you smell them. Hopefully they will go away sometime. They also cut into your heel of your feet and cause blisters. They are also very hard inside so I've had to add some inserts to help make the shoes comfortable but they still make my feet hurt.

The only pros are that they were cheap and they look pretty nice.

I took a chance and ordered these shoes despite the other reviews and couldn't be happier! First off I ordered them from Amazon Warehouse expecting a slightly used pair; they arrived in mint condition! There was no funny smell as another reviewer posted and the size was true for my foot. Comfortable right out of the box. Great looking shoes, looking forward to sporting these babies around town. For the price they can't be beat! My only complaint is that they don't have these in brown because I would definitely buy another pair!

I was after a shoe that l could wear in a formal setting, primarily for the office. This bad boy fit the bill perfectly. I paid around $40, and at that price l was very impressed. Its a sturdy shoe and surprisingly comfortable. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my dad as a Christmas Gift. It fits perfectly and looks great. My dad said it is so comfy and don't want to take them off. I am happy with this purchase.
