I really like the look, unlike the other two reviews I thought it came out of the box looking great. However they are not very comfortable even after a week of wearing them. Also, they smell like paint thinner. The shoe polish is very strong smelling. I let them air out in my garage for over 2 weeks but not much better.

I bought Bass Men's Amserdam Ankle Boots for my husband for Christmas to replace a similar pair he has worn for over 10 years. The boot was designed with such a narrow opening (even with the gosset) that he could not get his foot into the boot. I returned the boots and was charged approximately $5 for the return. We went to Macy's and bought him another pair of boots! No more online boot/shoe buying for me.

Got these for $40 on amazon goldbox. I would not pay more than $50 for these. They do not compare to my Blundstone or RM Williams boots, both of which are the pioneers of this style boot. The leather is cheaper and the they do not fit my feet nearly as well. As usual you get what you pay for.

I loved the way these boots looked, and they were pretty comfortable at first. But within six months they had deteriorated quite a bit. The material the insole is made of is very cheap and thin which caused it to tear under the toe area after not much use. After a short walk to the bus stop one day in the rain after having them for half a year, my feet were soaked because the water seeps in along the area where the leather meets the rubber sole. They are not stitched, just glued and not very well. I will not buy this brand again and would suggest spending the extra money to buy a nice pair that has a leather insole and a stitched rubber sole that will last at least twice as long.

I previously bought the Bass Logan and Bass Brockton and loved them. I had my eye on the Bass Amsterdam boot for a while but I really didn't need boots. One night browsing amazon.com I noticed they were selling for only $31.60 in brown so I snapped them up! Bass make really nice shoes, I'm in Australia so the internet is the only place to get them. This Amsterdam boot looks fantastic and fits well too. I have no trouble getting these on contrary to other reviews, you'll just need a nice long shoe horn. When wearing them the upper part at the front does rub against your shin a little. Overall these are very good boots for the price.

I had been looking for an affordable chelsea boot for a while when I found these. I ordered a pair in black and a pair in brown. The uppers are leather and shined up nicely with a little Kiwi neutral. The elastic fit could have been narrower towards the top, and the sole seems strange as it is not leather, but some synthetic material that might not be very durable over time. But at this price ($21 each, shipped), replacing them when they wear out will not be too painful.

Very stylish shoes, but leather and outsole are stiffer than expected.

Besides, outsole has some synthetic odor, which slowly weakens.

Overall, this doesn't cause problems when wearing.

I READ SOME BAD REVIEWS ON THESE BOOTS BUT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND I ORDERED A BROWN AND A BLACK PAIR. I AM GLAD I DID. THEY FIT PERFECT WITH THE EXCEPTION A LITTLE HARD TO GET ON THE FIRST TIME. THEY DO NOT SMELL AT ALL. THE LEATHER IS QUALITY LEATHER AND THE SOLES ARE NOT SLIP AND NON MARRING. I AM HAPPY AND I HAVE A HIGH ARCH THAT CAUSES ME PROBLEMS SOMETIMES BUT NOT WITH THESE BOOTS.

I was after a sturdy, multi-purpose shoe. I can across this bad boy on sale and decided to buy it. I was not dissapointed. The shoe build quality is very high. The comfort level is good and is a great shoe for both general use as well as for a smart casual dress. I have had a couple of people admire the shoe and asking me where l got it from - so that was a plus! Overall, l thought it was a great buy.

THIS BRAND HAS BEEN AROUND OVER 50 YEARS I WAS VERY GLAD TO FIND IT. I PAID MORE BACK THEN. THE QUALITY IS STILL GREAT. i WILL BUY SHOES NEXT. I TRIED BOOTS ON 1 MONTH BEFORE VACATION, THOUGHT I WOULD BREAK THEM IN, NO NEED. FELT PERFECT. HOWEVER HEAL IS TO LOW. TOOK THEM TO THE GUY, 20 DOLLARS 1/2 IN TO LOW. DIDNT MIND AT ALL. NICE TO FIND A COMPANY THAT STILL HAS GREAT QUALITY AN PRICE THANKS)
