4.0 out of 5 stars Simple instrument (????) like you've never seen it, May 21, 2008
This review is from: Day the Bass Players Took Over the World [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is worth it just for the "special guest" section: Victor Wooten, Oteil Burbridge, Steve Bailey and Bill Dickens, in a monster bass quartet. Each are masters of their own particular style, and the four together are absolutely, jaw-droppingly phenomenal. I've nearly worn out that section of the tape. The rest? Kind of falls into the "Huh - didn't know you could do that..." category. I've played bass for over 30 years, so it takes a lot to surprise me. Will appeal most to Victor Wooten / Steve Bailey fans. The collection of Nashville heavy hitters, obviously including Dave Pomeroy, is also amazing. Almost enough bass players to change a light bulb.
