5.0 out of 5 stars Great sandals
This is the second pair I have purchased for my elderly mother. They adjust very well to her sensitive feet and she loves the soft and cushiony sole.

I got these shoes for my mother as a Valentine's day present. It shipped faster then expected so I gave it to her yesterday. 3.0 out of 5 stars Cute and comfortable, February 9, 2011
I got these shoes for my mother as a Valentine's day present. It shipped faster then expected so I gave it to her yesterday. She has been a fan of the workmanship and comfort provided Bass and she loved the sandals! She found them very comfortable. Usually she's a 7M but she's glad I bought it in 7W. I bought the Beaconhill loafer for myself and we have to agree that the quality of the leather is no longer as exemplary as before. My mother said that when Bass shoes were made in Brazil, the leather was better. Now that these shoes are made in China, the quality seems to have suffered.

These are great sandals! Very comfortable, you almost forget that they are on your feet. I always get the tan color, they go with everything.

1.0 out of 5 stars Extra-wide? Not!, April 27, 2011
I do have a wide foot, but don't usually buy extra-wide shoes. I did in these, because I've found that most sandals run a little narrow. Not this narrow! Extra wide in these is about half an inch narrower than ordinary wide in my daily shoes. I'm sending these back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Will improve with time, April 26, 2011
I love the design of this sandal, and I like the red cinnamon color. I just had a couple problems: it was a little smaller than expected; usually I get a medium width 8.5 or 9 and I gambled and got a 8.5 M. It's OK, just the fit is a bit short and a bit narrow. I'd say overall it's slightly smaller than a true-to-size. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, you might have problems with the cushiony foot bed making airy noises. It's not a definite fault---actually, only one of my sandals makes the noise---but it's a possibility you might get that odd shoe. I think the sandal will improve with time: the leather will stretch and I imagine the noise will eventually go away, in which case I give it 5 five stars rather than 4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect replacement for previous pair, August 21, 2010

I had a pair of these sandals which I wore for over 10 years. They were getting "tired" but are still wearable. I was so glad to find that Bass still makes this sandal. I am extremely happy with my new ones, and the company that sent them handled my order in a timely manner. No complaints at all!

Basic white sandals that are comfortable and well made. Need I say more other than wife loves wearing them more than she loves me.

5.0 out of 5 stars the consistently comfortable and supportive sandal, May 16, 2010
The first time I purchased these sandals they lasted years. They were my reliable, comfortable and supportive summer shoes. Once I wore them out, I never found a sandal that provided the same comfort and support. I finally gave up on shoe stores and new styles and simply bought the same shoe on line. This Bass sandal is one of the best.

1.0 out of 5 stars Different sizing, August 13, 2007
I've had these sandals before and they fit perfectly. I ordered them in the same size and they are too wide. I can wear them but they are not nearly as comfortable as my old ones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Narrow frustration! Good quality, but a mixed review., June 23, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Shoes.com provided wonderfully fast service and a decent sandal price. Too bad my feet are so impossible; my fault, not theirs! A friend with a larger size and medium width tells me she has worn hers "Margie" sandal comfortably for 12 years. They still look new, as evidenced by my ordering them after seeing how lovely they were when she wore them to a recent event.

Bass always produces a good product. I ordered the "tan distressed" and they are beautiful sandals, with sumptuously comfy soles. They are adequately sturdy, while also enabling feet to still look dainty and shapely. For the $30 which I paid, free postage, they are a fairly good buy.

Nevertheless, these sandals are not perfectly comfortable for me, perhaps more my fault than theirs. My advice to a person with small, narrow feet is that this product may not be exactly right. The front straps are in a fixed position, as are most strappy sandals, while the back ones are adjustable. This said, the size 7 Narrow is not for a truly narrow foot, mainly due to the positioning and size of the front straps.

I will keep these sandals and can wear them "around," but on day trips or shopping I would probably not be able to endure the slight floppiness. There is just a tad too much give for my foot. Even the back strap isn't quite perfect for me, as it tends to force the foot forward when adjusted in the tightest position. Yet I need the very tightest buckle hole in order to keep the shoe on my foot at all.

Would I have bought these had I been shopping in a store, where I could have tried them on? Probably not. But I've been to dozens of quality shoe stores already this summer, to no avail seeking my size in this type sandal. At one point, I went store-to-store at a huge outlet mall, hitting every place with shoes, including Bass itself. At one store, Etienne Aigner, I was so frustrated that I made the comment that they no longer carried either my size or my style. When the saleswoman heard I wore a narrow, she said, "Oh we'll, never go back to THOSE again." It seems as if most stores consider customers with dainty, narrow feet an oddity, not deserving to find shoes at all. So perhaps, in spite of my dissatisfaction with the sandals in question, I did well by ordering them.
