We tried these because of my daughters interest in all things Doctor Who , and as most fans of the show know, the Fourth Doctor always had them. Living in the states, you can't buy them here, so when I found them on Amazon, I jumped at getting them. We weren't disappointed, they are different from any jelly type candy we've eaten. They are a little grainy in texture but softer than any gum candy, and the flavors are natural. This is the only brand (Bassett's) we have tried, and they are supposed to be the best. The shipping is a bit pricey because they're imported, so if you order, order several bags while your at it.

Perfect for any doctor who fan. The best part is that they do not taste like babies. This was a great purchase.

I love these. They make my hunger for babies socially acceptable.

Similar to a gummy candy and as different as mike & ikes. Jelly babys have a delicious sugary crust and a softer inside. Whether vegging out watching tv or attempting to break the ice with your alien captors, Jelly Babies fit the bill. Crinkly bit of wax paper/wax paper bag not included.

With my boyfriend and I being Doctor Who fans, we HAD to try these, since they are mentioned on the show periodically. I found I could only order them online, since I live in the US, so I did just that. Delivery date was estimated at Jan 21, so imagine my surprise when I got home to this little package yesterday! The candies are odd. Not like American gummies. They're more jelly than gummy, with an almost smooth "grittiness" to them, if that makes sense. Not actually gritty...I can't explain it. The flavors are strong, and VERY artificial tasting. Honestly, I prefer American gummy flavors over these. One odd thing, though, the colors included are green, yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple. As expected, green is lime, yellow is lemon, orange is orange, red is cherry, pink is strawberry, but purple...purple was unexpected. Instead of grape as you may guess, the purple gummy is actually "black currant" flavored. It's bizarre, but not gross. Very unusual.

Anyway, that's my review on these silly things. They are fun for the novelty, if you've never had them, but I don't think I'll be buying them again. Just glad I finally got to try some!

Like many others, I tried this because it's been mentioned a few times in new Doctor Who. I knew it was a thing with some of the Classic Doctor's but I never watched that series. Anyhow, as soon as I could, I found some on Amazon and ordered a batch.

I didn't order enough.

The best way I can think of to describe the texture & taste of these things are to say that they taste like 75% jelly bean and 25% gummy. Really though, that description doesn't do it justice as these things have their own (delicious) unique taste.

These are definitely not what an American consumer would expect in candy. They are not like the jelly candy in the sates. The flavor is milder but nice, I'm probably used to the supersaturated favors of American candy. My main problem was with the texture. The candy is coated in some kind of powdery substance to keep them from sticking together. I can deal with that but they have a grainy, sandy kind of texture while you chew them. I bought 2 bags of these for my brother an myself to have while we watched the 50th anniversary special of dr who. My brother did not like them at all but I thought they were tolerable. Since I got 2 bags of the same quality I don't think this was a one off bad batch type thing.

Try them if you are an American Dr Who fan but don't expect something similar to what you get in the states. I gave them 3 stars because I think this is how they are supposed to be.

I absolutely love these, and living in a small town, there's no place to buy them. I'm so glad Amazon carries them! Woohooo!
