About the Author

Storm Constantine and Eloise Coquio have been practising pagans for many years. Storm Constantine is a successful fantasy novelist, having had over a dozen books published and nearly fifty short stories. She also runs her own publishing house, Immanion Press. Both Storm and Eloise came to paganism via the Wiccan tradition but through a natural evolution moved towards a more eclectic path. They have worked extensively with Bast and Sekhmet, and were members of a dynamic temple group centred around these goddesses. Both authors live in Stafford: Storm with her husband Jim and nine cats; and Eloise with her partner Steven, their son Rowan and four cats. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Oh yes this book is great! I love it! I brought this book because I had a good vibe about it and I was so right. Both Storm Constantine and Elousie Coquio have a deep love and respect for Bast and Sekhmet. They give historical facts and the myths of Bast and Sekhmet as well as the other feline gods and goddesses of Egypt. Then they have some real good ritual and meditations. Its not extremly Wicca orintaded at all so if youre looking for Egyptian Wicca then this is not the book. But I am having a real hard time putting this book down. They also go on describing about aura colors, and breathing techniques that I never found in any book. This is one of a kind and if you are intereted in these goddesses then the price is worth it. This is not traditional Egyptian magick as even both authers stress this. This is something their group does. I am not quite finished with this book but I have learned some new information and techniques. The book is nicley written and well organized. The charges are beautyful. They also have a section in the book on recipes to make oils and incenses. Their spells use a ritualized pathworking and meditation. Its not something that is simple and easy. But its not so complicated where you just wanna throw this book off a wall. Rven those who hav a little experience with magick will find this book satisfying. And for those who have a lot of time under their belts with magick you may find this book satisfying as well. I have yet to do all their rituals in this book and I look forward to doing them. I also find that their way of raising the cone of power interesting and more intricate than what Im used to. I really love this book. Thank you Stom and Elouise for writting such a wonderful book on Bast and Sekhmet!

This book has fact, myth and ritual--and is well written. Like the previous reviewer, I found that I could not put it down. The book is a beautiful tribute to the roles of Bast and Sekhmet in both ancient (as far as we know) and modern life.

Author missed that the god's wife role was a middle ground role and myth. To the Romans women were confined to indoor slaves, killed as a warm up to a gladiator fight. Egyptian women built and ran temples as well as legal office. they new blood was part of life, seperate from unclean fluids. I'd hope that the author would catch this fact. Yet she asert the roman created culture of male dominated temples. She gets and f for history-herstory.

C for clearlly written exercise and encouraging one to think about why they using this system and use it for the greater good. Find out through trial and error what they do, she doesn't give a clue.
