Bastard Art reminds me of two previous Sex Gang Children albums: Medea and The Wrath of God. This epic album evokes the tunefulness and analog earthiness of the former, and the harsh guitar noises and scary vistas of the latter.

My only (small) complaint is that the drum beats are often repetetive. (I had the same complaint about Medea) On the other hand, the beats seem to be the least important aspect of this album. Listen for the textures of the guitar lines and industrial noises. Listen for the socially relevant lyrics.

Bastard art might be Andi Sexgang's most complex and complete statement. I recommend this album along with Last of England and Blind.
