If you really like Motorhead , there is no doubt you will like this disc. I found it to be very much in the hard rocking tradition of Lemmy and the boys without being a churned out replica of previous albums.

This is drummer Mikkey Dee's first full length album with Lemmy, Phil and Wurzel. And its easy to see why he's remained Motorhead's drummer ever since!! Check out barnstormers like the opening cut, On Your Feet or On Your Knees. Its obvious that Mikkey injected some new life into the band and it continues to punish you on the next four tracks. Burner churns and twists and scorches, Death or Glory has speed and punch. I am the Sword is archetypical Motorhead, and Born to Raise Hell is yet another anthem in the band's pulverising canon. Don't let Daddy Kiss Me is a great tune about child abuse, though a bit awkward within the wealth of this set. The remaining tracks Bad Woman, Liar, I'm Your Man, We Bring the Shake and Devils are just breathtakingly consistent and help to crown this record as one of the best they've done in their career. Lost in the Ozone is a slower track, but all the more powerful and pondering in its intent. Unfortunately, Bastards came out on a small German based label ZYX and didn't get the proper distribution it deserved here in the States. Nevertheless, its still available here through different music retailers on Amazon and THANK GOD!! I absolutely love this album, it even surpasses 1916 and I feel fits right in with Ace of Spades, Bomber and Overkill as one of Motorhead's top albums....Highly Recommended....

This is one of the mighty Motorhead's best albums. At the time of the release the record label was going under and this CD was very hard to find. Only years later did it receive the proper homage that it so justly deserves. There are so many good songs on here, well, basically this is just a classic. Beginning with 'On Your Feet or On Your Knees', and 'Burner', both which just tear it up with blistering fast riffage and the growling, spit-fire rasp of Lemmy; you know there are only good things to come. Other hilights are 'I am the Sword', 'Lost In the Ozone', 'Liar', and 'Devils'. But they're all good. This is a must-have for any novice or die-hard metal head. I'm still blown away by how good this CD is almost 20 years later. I think I'll be listening to this when I'm 77, and hopefully beyond. God Bless Lemmy, Phil, and Mikkey.

A fantastic album with a good mix of faster songs (Burner, On your feet, .. ) with slower (well, slightly!) paced songs packing awesome riffs (Sword, Born to raise Hell & esp. Liar). The riffage, the pounding drums and Lemmy's gravelly voice are all in top form here. Go buy it and marvel at the sheer power of the mighty Motorhead. Cheers, Mark.

I agree with all the reviewers that gave this 5 stars. You can't hate this! Any Motorhead fan would love to crank this all day till the next door neighbors's lawn turns brown and dies! This is top notch Motorhead that launched them into this modern world, new and familiar at the same time. Great for old fans and for newbeez!

Bastards is one of the Motorhead albuns i like the most. All the songs are great, with some MOTORHEAD METAL CLASSICS like BURNER, DEATH OR GLORY and LIAR.

Just ok,

This is not of their best albums. They sound too tired and they try to play . Unfortunately they just try. The melodies and the compositions are not so good as their previous albums. oly for Motorhead collectors.
