I have a 7-year-old son who advances every week with these simple and effective books. I recommend them highly.

My son's music teacher recommended this book. It is worth it, it is easy to follow and it is a great starting book. I recommend it!

My wife and I are in our late twenties / early thirties. My wife is an accomplished musician (concert violist). My experience with any musical instrument has always been through the store window. We wanted to learn something new and I always wanted to play the piano. We purchased a very nice keyboard and then this book found it's way into our home. We both have used this book for approx 4 months and can honestly say we are both very pleased. The book has easy to follow steps. It truly takes you through the process one step at a time. The pages are clear and it folds nicely on a music stand.

The other pro to this book is that you don't need to buy anything more than what you want. There are a million different piano instruction books out there. The reason this one tips the scales is that Bastien piano books come in a range of types. They offer piano books on Technic, Theory, Performance, and Sight Reading. My wife already knows a lot about music theory. Again, my previous knowledge was that music had theory to it. I'm interested in the theory and technic end of things. My wife is more interested in the performance side of the piano. Again, this series of books provides the information side by side with the other books. This way you can follow along across the various types of lessons.

While you don't need any of the other books to play the piano, they are available. This is a very big bonus and the reason we choose to stay with Bastien Piano Books.

Overall, we couldn't be happier with them and plan on one day having our children use the books.

If you don't mind waiting, and waiting and waiting your book will arrive perfectly. it did arrive within the scheduled time frame. which was something crazy like 4-6 weeks. I waited so long that i finally had to go out and find a store to buy it in. I thought it would be quick since it's a light book. I had no idea it was coming from a warehouse in Europe. The company was very nice when i contacted them to find out where it was, only to find this out. Now I have 2. I would not have ordered it if i knew it wasn't coming domestically. Most items i have ordered via amazon i have received in about a week at the latest, buy understanding that it was coming from abroad made me understand the problem. sadly for me i had exactly the same problem on another book i ordered although i don't know if it was from the same company.

This book came in just as it said it would: quick and without blemish. I am very happy. Thanks!

I knew I was buying a previously owned copy of this book but was not aware how well used the book would actually be. The book had many, many pages with penciled comments and notations. There were also a few pages with pen and highlighter comments on the pages. My eight year old was not too happy when she discovered that the "certificate" in the very back of the book had also been filled out with someone else's name and piano teacher in - you guessed it - permanent pen! I was also disappointed the shipping for this item was more than the item itself.

There was no comment from the seller that there was writing in the book. I think that should have been disclosed.

Not good at all. Was advertised as very good. Every page was written on. Unsatisfactory for the price.
