5.0 out of 5 stars Just enough old and new Kittin, May 9, 2008

This review is from: Batbox (Audio CD)
Batbox had the same old Miss Kittin feel that I love so much, but with different, darker overtones. She doesn't use her familiar Swiss-talking accent thing throughout, in fact she sings quite a lot and she can actually sing pretty wel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds more like Ladytron than Ladytron, August 7, 2008

This review is from: Batbox (Audio CD)
To explain, I find Ladytron's "604" and "Light and Magic" albums to be two of my favorite albums of all time. Their next album "Witching Hour", though decent, was a letdown for me as I felt the style was far too different than 604 or LAM. This album by Ms Kittin takes me back to the days when I heard the dark synth and danceable sounds of early Ladytron, when I was excited to have "found" a new band. This album is gritty, Ms Kittins vocals are spot on and add a definite haunting feel to each song. Any early Ladtyron fan should quite enjoy this album.

And I love that goofy synth sound on #5 Barefoot Tonight. Heard by itself, I wouldnt have been able to think of how to make it work in any song, yet Ms Kittin makes it work here. That's what separates good songwriters/producers from the rest.

One of the best albums I've bought this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Electro Album, July 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: BatBox (MP3 Download)
Miss Kitten has gotten better and better. Her early stuff had a nice formula, solid dancey beats and cool vocals. But it didn't quite hit home. I could take it or leave it.

This new album covers some excellent new ground. Her vocals are really solid. Cool and chill at some points, hooky and melodic at others.

The music has also gotten better. The beats are still fun and make you move. But there are also interesting aggressive textures and sounds mixed in to keep this on the edge. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beats to bang your head till dawn, October 24, 2008
This review is from: Batbox (Audio CD)
Oh, my god. I remember listening to Frank Sinatra when it first came out. I wasn't into club music like I am now, but I sensed something different and very appealing about that duo with The Hacker.
Anyway, I bought I Com and felt Miss Kittin was getting bigger and bolder. She tried a variety of sounds that, even though sometimes they missed the mark, actually made up for a pretty decent debut.
Now BatBox sees an improved composer and artistic lady. I think this was the kind of CD I expected on my first encounter with I Com.
I can't get enough of Pollution of the Mind, Play Me a Tape and Kittin Is High.
Awesome music to dance to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing work of art !, June 20, 2008

This review is from: Batbox (Audio CD)
I can't really say anything negative or bad about this album. This is one of those fine rare gems that has been horribly looked over. I can honestly say this is one of the best I have heard in a while. The beats are innovative and fresh and all of the tracks have individuality ! And what is even odder about them they are independently done. There are no grade A producers or familiar faces but the beats are amazing. Ms Kittin is one of those people that has such an extraordinary talent. That later down the line people will appreciate her but not now. Listening to this material reminds me of so many other great overlooked talents like Jen lasher ! I hate that music has become so basic that people like this starve. But that is basically what the world as come too. Ms kittin keep up the great work I am with you !

A+

Miss Kitten does it again with her emotionally charged music adventure. From the first music with hacker to Batbox, Miss Kitten has evolved into an Electro Empress.
