If you're a fan of the Castlevania series OSTs, this is for you,
By
This review is from: Baten Kaitos (Audio CD)
This album is nothing less than amazing, containing both dramatic and well done orchestral tracks as well as some nice metal battle scene music similar to that of the Guilty Gear series. This is 57 tracks (over 2 hours) of pure heaven.
If you have played the game before and enjoyed it you should love every minute of this. If you haven't I would still recommend taking a look if you are into music from games such as Castlevania, Final Fantasy or Guilty Gear as this contains some of the same upbeat, fast/middle paced melodic music. That's not to say that it is copying anything from those two that I just mentioned, this album has a right to be recognised as it's own individual label. It's practically impossible to put into words just how moving and real the orchestral tracks are, some are slower paced with a fair bit of treble, others have a strong bass line with a complimenting high pitched melody playing over the top, and finally you have what I think is the best part: Orchestral and Metal combined! My favourite tracks (to give you a taster) for the moment have to be:- 'The True Mirror' - The main battle theme music with a face paced metal bass and drum beat combined with a violin and synth for the main melody. They also have a metal version of this song with superb solos. 'Soft Labyrinth' - a wonderful combination of a rock riff with an incredible string score. 'Disorder' - a slow completely classical track that truly does convey the oppression of the areas that it features in. And... 'Violent Storm' - an almost power metal track, the type of music you would expect to find on Guilty Gear. In short my conslusion is this, if you like orchestral game music with a nice rock twist you MUST make this a part of your collection! ^_^

Stunning,
This review is from: Baten Kaitos (Audio CD)
First of all, do not pay $57 - go to YesAsia, PlayAsia, Overstock or one of the sellers here to purchase it far cheaper. But on the other hand...
...this CD set is absolutely beautiful. I don't suggest you listen to the (2-Disc) set until you beat the game. Some of the music, particularly closer to the end, are dramatic, soft and stunning. Play this soundtrack with some headphones on - you'll see what I mean. The way the music is put together is so emotive that you may feel as if you want to cry and there are others that you just want to rock to. If you're familiar with Tales of Symphonia and the Mega Man X series, some songs sound like they belong on either game(s). The song list is so long because there are other "bits" which are simply sound effects, such as the "leveling up" tune. Give this one a chance. Once you listen to the music from Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, you'll see how gorgeous video game music can really be in addition to the deep storyline in the game.

So many memories come with these tracks! I love each and every one of them and their quality. ImportCDs is the most awesome company evah! Only 1 prob, and nothing to do with the CD... my Zune doesn't recognize Kanji. =P
