Entertaining Adaptation, July 19, 2010
This review is from: Batgirl: Year One Motion Comics Season 1 (Amazon Instant Video)
This is a "motion comic" adaptation of the "Batgirl: Year One" graphic novel. Using scenes from the book, the characters, although two-dimensional, have limited motion. It kind of reminds me of "Reading Rainbow" type presentation, when they would read a book and show the pictures, only with more sound effects, varied voices, and motion. It's actually very engaging and fun. The voices are all appropriate, and the sound effects are cool. The only really distracting and irritating thing is that every 5 minutes or so, the intro and ending credits will play, along with this hard-rock kind of music. I don't understand WHY, since these "cuts" come in the middle of episodes, not just dividing one episode from another. But when the story is interupted so frequently by this loud music and credits, it gets a little annoying and takes away from the enjoyment.
All in all, I'd reccomend it if you liked the Batgirl: Year One book. Just get prepared to watch the intro and ending credits. A lot.
