This is a mild, relaxing bubble bar. Many of the bubble bars Lush makes can be overwhelming in scent, but Bathos has a mild, soft fragrance. The predominant fragrance of Bathos is supposed to be violet, but to me it smells more like a mild lilac. If you are familiar with Choward's Violet mints or candy, then you will recognize the smell in Bathos. Lush has included clove oil in this bubble bar, so there is a bit of spiciness to take the edge off of the sweet flowery smell.

I live in an area that has *very* hard water, so I usually throw an entire bubble bar into the tub. I still get a ton of bubbles. What is particularly nice is that the bubbles last the entire bath. When the water starts to cool down, I just turn on the faucet for more warm water and more bubbles! If you live in area with softer water, you can get away with using just a half of a bubble bar. After all, bubble bars aren't exactly cheap. But if you are feeling decadent, go ahead and throw a whole one into the tub. It turns the water a lovely shade of twilight purple. And although Bathos does contain green glitter, the glitter just swirls in the water. It is barely noticeable and it will definitely not stick to your skin.

Bathos did not leave a ring around the tub as so many Lush products will do. This was a definite plus. Who wants to be scrubbing out the tub after a nice, relaxing bath? I deducted one star because the smell did not last longer. It was quite strong for the first five minutes of my bath, but then sort of faded away. In addition, the scent did not linger on my skin nearly as long as other Lush scents do (I took my bath in the evening and the smell had dissipated by the morning). Bathos smells great in the package. In fact, I bought one to keep in my lingerie drawer! However, it just doesn't live up to the hype when tossed in the water.

This is by far, one of my favorite bubble bars. The scent is gorgeous (fresh violets) and I love how it turns my bath water a bright shade of purple (no worries though, it won't stain your skin or your tub!) I also love the tower of bubbles this creates. Usually I'll break this in half (wrap the other half up for another time) and crumble under the running faucet.
If you're new to Lush or are interested in trying out a bubble bar for the first time I would recommend trying this one. I feel like it's a scent everyone can enjoy. :)

This is a bar of bubble bath that purports to smell of violets. It really doesn't smell much like violets, but has a vague sweetness and floral scent. It isn't very strong. The bubbles are rich and thick, however and it's a nice luxurious bath. You don't have to put the entire bar into the bath; I have a large tube and half the bar works just fine.
