5.0 out of 5 stars More fun with Biscuit
My 3-year-old loves the Biscuit series. This book takes Biscuit and his little girl owner through an unwanted bath for Biscuit. In usual Biscuit fashion he resists doing what he is supposed to (which may be why the Biscuit series appeals so to older toddlers--they can relate!). The little girl is always patient and sweet, even when Biscuit makes a mess or gets her wet...

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't Care for It
Not good for reading to child before bedtime. Not enough words, story, substance. We were bored with it after one reading. My 2yr son isn't old enough to read yet, but when he is, I am guessing he will read it once and then be bored with it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars More fun with Biscuit, April 7, 2000

My 3-year-old loves the Biscuit series. This book takes Biscuit and his little girl owner through an unwanted bath for Biscuit. In usual Biscuit fashion he resists doing what he is supposed to (which may be why the Biscuit series appeals so to older toddlers--they can relate!). The little girl is always patient and sweet, even when Biscuit makes a mess or gets her wet or dirty she continues to treat him nicely. I believe this is a nice lesson for a little one, and the easy-to-read format makes it fun for them to make "Bow wow" and "Woof" sounds along with the main character. When my 5-year-old started to read the Biscuit books were popular with her because she could feel a sense of accomplishment when she could read it herself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Text Appeals to Young Readers, February 19, 2007
This review is from: Bathtime for Biscuit (My First I Can Read) (Paperback)
We recently introduced Biscuit to our daughter (nearly age 2 yrs). She asks to read about Biscuit's bath several times a day and comments as we read together. The word repetition creates an easy rhythm we both enjoy. The text and drawings work well together.

It is time for Biscuit to have a bath. The Girl In The Purple Sneakers has everything all set. Everything except Biscuit who has other things he would like to do. This is also the First book where his friend Puddles shows up.

Biscuit is reluctant to take his bath, but after making a mess and some puddles of his own, it is finally time to get clean.

This is one of the earliest and best Biscuit books. My daughter loves it and I can use it to illustrate that when things need to be done, we will get them done even if she resists.

More great illustrations and text that my daughter likes to illuminate with her own story telling and hand gestures.

5.0 out of 5 stars We like it for all the wrong reasons., October 14, 2005

My 6-year-old brought this book home from school, and it's a fine learning-to-read book for her. What struck her, though, was the (unintentionally?) hilarious nature of a few of the illustrations. They have to be seen to be appreciated. Call us juvenile, but we laughed until we cried. I'm buying one for home, and more for gifts! Thanks, Biscuit!

5.0 out of 5 stars First Book Daughter Read To ME!, January 25, 2011
This review is from: Bathtime for Biscuit (My First I Can Read) (Paperback)
The Biscuit books have always been cute and fun for the kids to listen to. But today I got a special treat when my 5 year old read this book to me! It's the first book she's been able to read all on her help with almost no help from me. I'm off to find more in the Biscuit series so she can continue to read and enjoy her books in a whole new way.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Biscuit series of early readers is interesting and builds young children's confidence, April 27, 2010
This review is from: Bathtime for Biscuit (My First I Can Read) (Paperback)
My 5-year-old daughter loves the Biscuit series of books and though we got the series last year, she still takes them off the shelf and reads them by herself and even to me, without being asked! Now, that's a winning series to me as through these two years since I began to teach her reading skills, we've gone through many different readers by various publishers (many of which I've reviewed in terms of how helpful/effective they've been) and only certain series have appealed to her. Being a visual learner, colorful and interesting illustrations are important, but at the same time they should not detract from the reading itself.

The Biscuit series of books has Biscuit the Dog go on simple yet fun adventures. This story is one of our favorites as Biscuit tries to avoid taking a bath with funny scenes that had my daughter giggling. The vocabulary is simple with familiar sight words that will motivate a young child who is just beginning to read. It helps to build confidence in reading whilst engaging a young reader's interest through the colorful illustrations and charming story. This is a wonderful and appealing series for early readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars An instant hit!, February 7, 2010

This review is from: Bathtime for Biscuit (My First I Can Read) (Paperback)
My 16 mos old daughter loves Biscuit! She loves hearing me say "woof woof" every page and when the neighbor's dog shows up; "bow wow". She laughs when Biscuit's owner gets a surprise bath. Every night we have to read two books: one I choose and then..a Biscuit book. I just ordered four more because I'm ready for some more variety even if my daughter is ok with the same book all day long!
