Forget the other reviews........,
By A Customer
This review is from: Batman/Aliens (Paperback)
Without question, this is a five star comic. It is out of print, but I managed to find one at a local comic book store. The art and story are excellent. It reminds me of a movie that was never made. When Batman arrives in the Amazon rain forest, he discovers that a "team" of special agents have already arrived to investigate an Aliens incident. Batman is forced to take charge. I have been a Batman fan for years and highly recommend this comic to other fans......

Batman Aliens,

I almost didnt buy this book based on the reviews I read on it from amazon at the time I purchased it. But I did and found the reviews to be incorrect, the artwork is rich reminding me of "batman contagion" in its style. The fact that the story did not take place in a city was handled extreamly well. The storyline itself was fine, just an interesting spin on the old "its life jim but not as we know it" plot with charactors being gratifyingly 'offed' right the way through. In a nutshell I'm happy I chose to puchase it. One other small point to note is I bought it 'second hand' through amazon and expected something slightly dog eared at the very least, but I recieved the novel in excellent condition. So if you're 'umming' and 'ahhing' over this one dont, just buy it!

Great story, fantastic art,

I didn't care for Ron Marz's work on Silver Surfer - but, man can he write a great Batman! Wrightston's people and creatures are a wonder to behold. The story unfolds like the best Aliens movie - it's fast-paced, fun and full of action.

A Very Entertaining Comic Book!,

I think that this is a great comic. It has cool artwork and it has an excellent story. The only problem is that Batman wrestles the Aliens like they are nothing, when they are supposed to be super strong. But besides that, it is very good. A must have for all Aliens comic collectors.

Absolutely terrible...,

I'm a huge Bernie Wrightson fan, but this has to be his worst work ever. I'm thinking of the Wrightson who illustrated Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, did Captain Sternn, and great horror work. This was just plain awful. The only explanation has to be that the story and dialogue are so bad, he simply wasn't inspired to do top quality work. Aside from that, the "rough banter" between the mercs was hackneyed and predictable, as was the excuses for them to wander from the group to be summarily slaughtered by aliens. "I gotta go kill that damn chatterin' monkey!" Yeah, brilliant. This was slapped together, as most of the Aliens/Predator crossovers have been. Since the success of the original Batman vs. Predator, DC and Darkhorse have been trying to capture lightening in a bottle again only to fail miserably over and over. I could write a better premise than this junk. Don't bother with it.

Very well written story that draws you in and keeps you asking for more. Batman fans will love this! Alien fans will love this! New readers to either series will love this book! Should be a movie! A must have!

Terrible Writing,

Ron Marz is oe of the worst writers in comics. This Batman/Aliens is packed with pages of weak story and even weaker artwork. Batman stoires should be set in Gothom City, not in tropical jungles where he meets characters from a movie franchise that ran out of ideas ten years ago.

I read the reviews about bva, heard a friend talk good things about it, plus it looked cool, so I got it.I read 3 more times. its that good. Im not a die hard, or huge fan of the batman and aliens, but the comic looked good so I got. The story was great and full ok suprises. The art is great even for todays standerds. The plot was very creative, and not just thrown together.
