Product Description

Editorial Review

Black and stealthy--with rubber wheels and a rock-solid, plastic construction--this Batmobile looks and feels more like an armored tank. Atop the vehicle sit three red buttons. Press the first one, and an engine revs and a huge red light at the rear flashes. Press the second, and hidden missile launchers spring from either side of the car with a clatter. (You can easily fold them closed again.) The third button creates the sound effect of missiles firing. A hatch on top opens to reveal the driver’s seat and a rotating steering control. Accompanied by three button-cell batteries, this heavy-duty toy rolls smoothly along the floor. Action figures are sold separately. --Andy Boynton

Product Description

This Batmobile is unlike any Batman vehicle ever seen before! Batman thunders through Gotham City in a high-tech ride that strikes fear into the criminals of the city with its combination of speed and power. Prominently featured in the movie, it includes electronics that bring key scenes to life. The rocket engine in the rear and lasers in the front both light up and include cool sounds. The Batmobile also transforms into attack mode with twin projectiles that leap out and forward at the touch of a button.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a New Batmobile!!!, June 24, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Batman Begins Deluxe Batmobile Vehicle (Toy)
Since 1989 or so we've basically had the same Batmobile being produced by Kenner. Of it was slightly different from the movie version to the Batman the Animated Series version, but it was still the same base design of a long, sleek, low to the ground car. One wonders how a car that long and low to the ground would have any kind of real maneuverability. Now comes along Batman Begins with a whole new take on the Batmobile. Combining a squat, hummer-like look with an almost off-road ATV for a totally new and inspired Batmobile. This toy is as tough and rugged as it looks with no fins or other parts popping off. Mine's strictly a display item but kids will love this one indoors or outdoors. The rubber tires are a welcome addition from the years of plastic ones. The sounds and lights are an added bonus. I'm glad to see Mattel back in the action figure game!

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU SPOIL YOUR CHILD LIKE ME...YOU WILL GET HIM THIS TOY!, October 19, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Batman Begins Deluxe Batmobile Vehicle (Toy)
My 5 year old was hooked on this toy when it first came out. Now that the movie has just released on DVD and it contains a lot of batmobile footage....he is hooked all over again! My kid is REALLY hard on his toys and most are missing heads, arms, legs, broken or dismantled within a day. This toy is still working 100% and still in one piece! This is not a junk toy and well worth the money spent.

Not much more to add to the previous review except what a collector wants to know. I don't invest in much Mattel and Hasbro has to offer in the line of vehicles. This is because for some reason, both have a tendency to mold the tires of their vehicles on the "show" side only. Which means that they mold half a tire only, out of plastic with the other inside half open and hollow. This looks and is cheap.

Well, this Batmobile has soft rubber (or vinyl) pneumatic tires on full rims. Traction is great and the look and feel are excellent. This is a heavy vehicle as a result. This feature was the selling point for me. Well done Mattel, well done indeed.
