A Black and White World View, December 20, 2005
This review is from: Batman: Black & White, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
Batman: Black and White vol. 2 is a work of passion and dedication to a character by the artists and authors represented in the book, and their love and fire for Batman shows in every detail. Originally printed as back up stories in Gotham Knights #1-16, these stories which are between 6-8 pages are entirely in black, white, and gray. They encompass a vast variety of the aspects of the Batman, and decades. Almost every classic Batman villain makes an appearance at some point in the graphic, and there is a story to suit almost any taste, from grim and gritty to bright and cheerful.
This is the perfect gift for anyone into Batman in any way, and the perfect thing to buy yourself if you've ever liked Batman in the least. You'll be bowled over by the brilliance of this book.
Highest recommendations to everyone!

LOVE IT!, April 28, 2010
This review is from: Batman: Black & White, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
I love the short stories. I love the artwork (WOW!- the ARTWORK!).
Naturally, some stories are better than others, but for the most part, they're good, and where the stories don't always pay off, the artwork almost always makes up for it. In this one, you get artwork by Alex Ross, Tim Sale, Jim Lee, Dave Gibbons, and Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez - and that's just five of the 21 stories! As for writers, there's Paul Dini, John Byrne, Paul Levitz, and Brian Azarello.
I've read volume 1 and 2 (Vol. 3 is on the way) - yes, Volume 1 is superior, but if you enjoy that one, you should definitely enjoy this one as well. This is a must for all major Bat-fans.
I just wish DC would churn out a Volume 4!

definitely worth buying, December 11, 2009
This review is from: Batman: Black & White, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
while it's not as good as the PHENOMENAL volume 1, this is an impressive volume of cool batman stories. there are some essential works in here (tim sale, alex ross). also, it's interesting to see jim lee ink his own work in here. batman translates really well to black and white, and anthologies are always a great buffet-style way to discover new creators.
