5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Compilation
I got this disc years ago, and enjoyed it very frequently. Also, it was my introduction to Seal, and Kiss From A Rose is now one of my favorites. The opening track is kick-ass. And there are a few other winners in this compilation that make it deserving of a five star rating. Overall, it's pretty cool. Check it out.

3.0 out of 5 stars How could a CD with Eddi Reader on it be bad?........Well...
I bought this CD only for the Eddi Reader song "Nobody Lives Without Love". If for that song only my money was well spent. Several of the other songs are enjoyable, but as far as soundtracks go it is nothing special.

4.0 out of 5 stars A soundtrack better than the movie, July 8, 2001
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I saw the movie in the theaters and grimaced throughout, but found the music continued to meet my expectations of what Batman should invoke, and so I had to get this CD. Unlike the film itself, this project was well executed and gave much more of an emotional connection.

There is a little bit of rock, punk and R&B on here to appeal to a wide variety of consumers---or somebody with one very ecclectic palate--so even if you were soured by the single overplay from this album do not let it stop you from going out to get this treasure.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Collection of Under-appreciated Music, January 2, 2003
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I don't think this CD was very popular when it came out back in '95, but now some of the artists on here are no longer "no-names" - case in point, the Flaming Lips have rocketed in popularity since the release of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (which I suggest you pick up if you like the song on here) and Massive Attack has grown more popular I think (pick up their album Mezzanine for some really good trip-hop).

The U2 track and the Seal track are both classics, Nick Cave is awesome (his album No More Shall We Part is excellent - another good buy) and the rest of the album make this better than the average soundtrack.

It's not spectacular, but if you want a sampling of good groups to get into, give it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like Glamorama in CD form, October 16, 2009
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
When they write the history books in the internet of the future, this will be remembered as the greatest record of the second half of the 90s, Radiohead can suck it. The list of artists, the sequencing, the evocation of the glitz and glam and money and power all laced with the undercurrent of darkness of knowing that the whole thing is predicated on vapid hot air? It's sublime, people. This is the Clinton era on 60 minutes of lasers, and it is beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful blend of different music, June 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
For anyone who likes a variety of music, this is your CD. It has rock from U2 and The Offspring, rap from Method Man, and even a little Gothic from Nick Cave. All I have to say is this is a great CD. I always listen to it because of the variety of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars What about Sunny Day???, October 10, 2002

Okay, so maybe Nick Cave and Massive Ataack add to the overall effect of the album... but in my opinion, Sunny Day Real Estate's "8" is an amazing song, easily the best on the album. Check out S.D.R.E.'s albums "Diary" and "LP2" for more great pre-emo guitar-driven rock.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, May 13, 2000

I originally only bought this CD for the opening track, U2's excellent 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me', but there is plenty of other good music here. Of course there is Seal's lovely 'Kiss From a Rose', and the best songs on this soundtrack are Massive Attack and Tracey Thorn's fabulous 'The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game', Mazzy Star's 'Tell Me Now', The Devlins' 'Crossing the River', and the goofy-funny 'Bad Days' by The Flaming Lips. Not the best soundtrack I've heard, but there are certainly some great tracks.

4.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Thing to come from this Movie(?), July 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
YES - The BEST Thing to come from the flim(don't bother w/ the flick)...
The Soundtrack Album, however, was a grand creation of the times - and still holds up as a fantastic listening experience(w/ the possible exception of 'Smash It Up'; sorry Offspring).
But, let's face it, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" by U2 & "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal, are damn near unforgettable. And when you throw in artists like The Flaming Lips, Brandy, Method Man, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Massive Attack, & Michael Hutchence(RIP), it's one album any Soundtrack fan should have in their collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, July 9, 2007
This review is from: Batman Forever: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I can not express how great the music is. The compilation of the music is amazing. Along with a great song by Michael Hutchence called The Passenger makes one inclined to want more.
