This is book is for advanced drawers. If you've been drawing for some time and are a competent artist, then this book is for you. Beginners will feel very frustrated.

I bought this book for my daughter, a budding cartoonist. But, I'm very disappointed with it. Having drawn all my life, I could have worked out the same steps by sitting down and showing her from a comic book.

The 'Warm up' page is farcical. It has 6 drawings of various gadgets that Batman uses, such as a tracer, Batarang remote, PDA, Batarang, Batwave receiver and Batmobile.

In the batmobile "warm up" example there is 1 drawing that consists of a rectangle with 3 circles drawn at each corner! I suppose you're meant to work the rest out for yourself?!

These objects require at least a page of 6-8 steps, but you have 1. You will have to sit down and work it out for yourself. Just as if you opened a comic book and did a step-by-step for your child.

Batman and Bruce Wayne are no better. There is nothing to tell you how far down batman's eyes appear, how high his ears go, how big his feet are in relation to the rest of him or how many heads tall he is.

As said above, it looks promising, but only if you're an advanced drawer. The fun in this book may be in sitting down with your child and breaking down the advanced steps to something they can handle.

Disappointing book. NOT FOR BEGINNERS.
