The Mattel Hot Wheels 1966 TV Batmobile Super Elite is a super disappointment for the price. The $100-ish "elite" version looks almost identical and is $200 cheaper! A couple of metal pieces and a plastic antenna do not make a $200 difference. The baggy looking parachute packs looks inaccurate and ridiculous. Overall, the car is overpriced and very inaccurate compared to the actual TV car. The two lower end models are much better values for the money...I suggest buying one of them and customizing them to look like the TV car!

I collect Batmobiles, and I have literally dozens of iterations of the Batmobile by different manafacturers in a number of different scales. Over the years that DC Comics has published Batman there have been a number of Batmobiles that changed with the technology of each era (which Corgi did a great job of replicating on their extensive line over the last few years), but the 'ultimate' Batmobile was the one made by George Barris for the 60s cult classic TV show. George modified a Ford Futura into the iconic toy for every late baby boomer. With great respect to Adam West and Burt Ward, The George Barris Batmobile was a co-star of the show. Every kid was blown away when the flame shot out the back of the car and it hurled onto the streets as another adventure began. I was very pleased to see that George and Hot Wheels teamed up to release a series of this 'Classic' Batmobile in a number of scales including this 1:18 Super Elite version. I've bought every size and version of this product, and I'll be honest, i wondered if the difference between the 'Elite' and 'Super Elite' was worth the price, and after several months I have to say that I do. This is not a toy you give to your kid to play with. This is something that 'big kids' buy and display as a homage to our youth. I'm going to go to an auto show and get George to autograph the Aluminum bat logo that's part of the amazing display for this version, and this is something that I'll pass on to my son when he moves me to a retirement home. This is a beautiful collectible, one that I cherish more and more as I look at it on the display shelf with the rest of my collection.

This is one of the best 1966 versions of the George Barris batmobile I have ever seen. I ended up buying 2 copies. Thanks!
