4.0 out of 5 stars Your kids will like it, but it's not perfect

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun clock but the projector has limited rotation
The clock is just as cool as shown in the picture and the projector adds a lot of fun, but the projector can only be directly upward or slightly backwar, so if you keep your clock on a dresser by a wall, the Bat Signal cannot be projected to the center of the room.

My 4-year-old son loves this clock. From a kid's perspective, it looks cool and has a nice gimmick--the clock projects a bat signal with the time on the ceiling. From a parental perspective, the time displayed on the ceiling only has one orientation. In other words, if you want the time to face a particular direction, you may end up turning the clock face away from the front of your end table, which means that during the day, when the time projected on the ceiling isn't visible, you can't see the time on the clock. And when you turn it so you can see the clock, you'll end up adjusting it every night. If the clock is on the right side of the bed, then you won't have as much of an issue because at least the clock face will be turned towards the bed when it has the proper orientation on the ceiling. The projector pivots from side-to-side, but it should turn around, too. All in all, the kids mostly care about the bat signal and kids that have been telling digital time for a while won't have as big an issue with the orientation as my 4-year-old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very expensive alarm clock, but cool!, April 21, 2005

This alarm clock is the perfect prop for my three year old son's bedroom. He loves the way it projects the time on the ceiling and he is actually learning how to tell digital time! Considering that Amazon has the best price by far on this alarm clock ($10 cheaper than most places), it is still very expensive for what it does.
Here are a few cons (I feel) about the alarm clock:
1-Very bright light on the face of the clock at night (No adjustment)
2-The projection on the ceiling can only be viewed in one direction
3-The hour digit is a different size than the minute digits
4-No radio, just alarm only.
Considering you can buy a decent Sony clock radio for (...) you have to think "is Batman really worth it?"

My son LOVES this clock! Unfortunately, the first one that arrived was defective and had to be sent back. The second one is okay but occassionaly suffers from sticky buttons that makes it difficult to re-set the time or the alarm. However, he loves the clock so much we decided to keep it and hope for the best. Also, they should have loaded the numbers for projection the other way around so they appear right side up when you lie on your bed and stare up at them. If you have the clock at the head of your bed (where it would usually go!) you have to turn it toward the wall or the numbers appear upside down. So -- cool clock, kids love it. Poor quality control.

4.0 out of 5 stars FUN but not perfect, January 23, 2007
This review is from: Batman Projection Alarm Clock (Toy)
I bought this for my sons 5th birthday, he loved it! How cool to have the time on the celing and batman on your nightstand. There is a dial to focus the projection which comes in handy. my only complaint is, unless the clock is level to my sons bed, he cannot see the time on the clock itself. Other than that my son is almost 8 now and still loves it.

bottom line: great for any half sized batman fan

My son loves turning out the lights and projecting the time on the ceiling. This would also make a good gift in the 4-7(8?) year old range. My son is 7

My son loves this thing b/c it looks cool. But it doesn't wake him up at all! It wakes me up to come turn it off and then get him up.

The clock was received very timely and packaged well. Although I ordered it shortly before Christmas, I was concerned about receiving it on time. I had the clock in plenty of time and my grandson just LOVES it.
