this is a good batman game..its just a tad too difficult LOL the graphics are dark and gloomy perfect for batman but they lack the visual detail of the movie but a good job by sega :) now the super nintendo's batman returns is a excellent game which i still play to this day..the graphics are well done.. the music is from the movie..and had digitized scenes from the film.. the other batman game that is really done right is by sunsoft ..:Batman the video game" from the 89 movie again for the genesis.. all in all if your a batman fan get all of these games..

I don't know about the other incarnations of Batman Returns, but the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis version is downright atrocious. The controls are stiff and slow, Batman himself moves at a snails pace and is frequently unable to move out of the way of oncoming enemies. The sound effects are awful and the combat system is very, very poor. Such a shame considering Batman was so good. Even the music in this one disappoints in comparison to the brilliant tunes in the first game. The only positive thing I can mention about this waste of time and effort are the nice looking graphics which really evoke the gloomy, wintry feel of a frozen Gotham City. Otherwise, avoid!
Graphics B- Sound D Gameplay F Lasting Appeal D-

The game itself is good. However with no save points and how easy is is to die due to the way you get hit. It is faithful to the film which is always a bonus and unlike many other batman games you get to utilize many of Batmans gadgets from his utility belt. You can use Batarangs, smoke bombs, flying bats (which are effective and look unbearabley cool) a grappling gun that shoots straight forward, heat seeking Batarans and your grappling hook which allows you to reach higher places. They are actually needed in the game as well because as I said earlier it is well hard. I have only completed it once and I jumped for joy when I did! Also essential in any decnt Batman game is the cape gliding feature which looks bad ... and is very useful. As it is based on the film it is only one player. All the characters look like who they are supposed to (especially the Penguin). Overall good but VERY hard.

This is one of my favorite Sega Genesis games ever! I love the ending and the gameplay is hella fun! This game brings back memories of the 2d, 16 bit graphics days. This game is challenging but if you stick with it it is very fun. I love batmans' moves on this game but I especially love his kicks. The graphics are good for the Genesis but the playability and enjoyment are why you get this game!

I reviewed Batman why not Batman Returns This game is loosley based off the 1992 film. It's basically a platformer it captures the the dark gritty style of Tim Burton you go and battle circus freaks Catwoman The penguin. Let me say this game is hard and I say get a game geneie cause your going to need to keep you cool and eventually figure everything out this game differed from console to console the Genesis was a platformer the Sega CD had the same stages but with cool arcade style driving levels the SNES was like Streets of Rage or Final Fight. The NES version was a beat em up too but was more like Double Dragon. There was a Sega Master system port that was only available in the PAL region it had the same Idea as the Genesis but was half a**ed. I enjoyed Batman 89, Returns and Forever. I hated Batman & Robin and 60's Batman TDK was great I hope to review some of the Movies from the Burton/Schumacher era and the Chris Nolan films. Well this game is good but I also recommend the SNES and Sega CD versions
