Very fun and educational toy!,

We have had the Take-A-Part Crane Truck (and Take-A-Part Airplane) for over 4 years. They are both very durable and fun for kids of many ages. My oldest son got them when he was 3 years old. He loved to take them apart and put them together (with help) and he played with them alot once they were together. At 7, he can put them together himself and he still plays with them on occasion. My younger son started playing with them when he was two. He does the same thing...loves to take them apart and put them back together with help. He also plays with them alot once they are together. I highly recommend these toys because they are very durable and very entertaining. In addition, each of them come in their own durable plastic boxes which contain all the parts when they are not being played with. After 4 years and an across country move, we did lose two small parts. I called the manufacturer and they sent me the two parts free of charge. You can't ask for better service. I definitely give this toy 5 stars.

Truly a creative toy that allows the child to "think" and follow a path oflogic. Well made, durable and colorful. Not only is it a toy of "mechanics" that teaches hand-mind skills but, it also a great 3-D puzzle that can change and be put together in various sequences. The Bi-plane version of this toy is also fantastic. Our grandkids loved it.... hours on end, day after day. Not a "play once" and toss away toy.

We received this toy after seeing a neighbors CAT Take-apart toy and let me say our friend's toy is of much better quality. The shiny plastic that they chose to make this toy of means that the all the screws come loose on their own. I have to tighten them if we want them to stay and then my son can't undo it on his own. The CAT toy is made of a matte plastic so the screws stay on even when not tightened all the way making it a truly fun (not frustrating) toy to play with. This toy is great in theory but I recommend spending the extra few bucks and buy the CAT take-apart toys. I plan on donating this toy and upgrading to the CAT this Christmas.

This is a great toy. I got this for my nephew who turned 3. He loves it! He has taken it apart and put it back together about 50 times already...and he has only had it 2 days! The only downside I could see is possibly losing some of the small nuts or bolts. But even so, still giving this 5 stars.

In the words of our 3.5 year old son, "Something's wrong with it". The bolt that holds onto the grapple doesn't tolerate manipulation very well and keeps falling out. We have the battat airplane and that is awesome. This one, a disappointment.

My son loves this toy, but he misplaced one of the nuts and bolts. I contacted the company and they do not sell replacement parts. This toy was supposed to supply years of fun but is now worthless. I would not recommend it due to the Battat's poor customer service.

Bought this for a 6 year old boy and he enjoyed playing with it from the moment it was received. The toy comes apart well and the construction of the truck itself is very solid. There is one flaw however and that is with the included power tool. While it's a great idea to teach young children the concepts behind power tools (forward/reverse) in practice it is a severely underpowered drill and we had to use some manual tools from another toy from the same company that fit in order to take apart the screws and bolts once they are on tight. The power tool only accepts 2 "AA" batteries so one would not expect much power but then they shouldn't have included a power tool that's not up to the job. Once they are off the tool can tighten ok but certain joints like the crane itself are too lose and must be tightened by hand further. Not to discourage anyone from buying as I only took away one star (it is still a great toy for any child that likes to take apart things) but in my opinion they should have just included manual tools with this set.

This is my son's favorite toy he received at his 3rd birthday. He does it over and over and over again. He is doing it virtually by himself and he just turned 3! If you're looking for a toy that your child can use a tool with that is not dangerous, this is hands down the one to choose!

This one is a great toy. My son loves it. He is a 4-year-old boy, and he can take the truck apart using the tools, also assembly it. He is very proud that he can accomplish the job. The quality of this toy is very good too.

We absolutely loved the Take Apart Airplane which is why we purchased its cousin, the Take Apart Crane. What a disappointment. Right away, I sensed toddler frustration with all the different parts. It's simply too difficult for a toddler to put together on his/her own. In fact, I often tell our toddler to ask Daddy to help since it annoys me too! Plus the actual crane contraption doesn't open unless you pry it open and risk injury so don't mind the photo where the crane seems open. I think they photoshopped adult hands out.I'm hiding this toy and trying again when my toddler hits the 3.5 mark. Not worth the toddler and personal frustrations! |
