Battat Small Drum Set
This drum set consists of a plastic drum with a removable top. The drum stores 2 drumsticks, a maraca, a castanet, kazoo and tombourine. All of the instruments are easily played and are extremely durable. The set is a great design and is a fabulous toy for toddlers.

This review is from: Battat Mini Drum (Toy)
I bought this for my 21 month old son and it's become a quick favorite in our house. This toy is educational, fun, nicely designed, and a good deal for the price. My son and I have a lot of fun playing "match the beat" with the drum, learning how to use the kazoo, and dancing around with the maraca, castanet, and tambourine.
There is a good variety of instruments, and I like that the drum doubles as storage. The drum also has a strap that is Velcroed in the center--a safety precaution to prevent accidental strangulation, I think. It allows the drum to be worn safely, so your kiddie can pretend they're in a marching band. I will say that one of the cutest things I've ever seen was the first time I saw my son walking around, wearing the drum and beating it like the little drummer boy. The drum looks a little flimsy, but my son stood on the lid (it wasn't on the drum at the time) and the plastic didn't pop off like I expected would happen. It can take a beating! (Pun intended.) The drum also has a label holder so you can personalize the drum with your kid's name. The lid comes off easily so that toddlers can open it themselves to get the instruments out--but it's a little tricky for them to put back on. I think my son accomplished that on his own once. That's not really a problem for us since he is rarely out of my sight, so I'm around to help put it back on for him. My only gripe is that I wish the strap could be attached so the drum could also be worn sideways, too! The bottom of the drum has a different sound (higher, more "snare" drum like) and it would be fun to be able to play both sides of the drum at the same time to vary the beats.
