Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts
Here's a great new cookbook from author Barbara Beery of the Batter Up Kids cooking school. With easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions and amazing photos on every page, creating desserts has never been easier or more fun. You'll find recipes for Blast-Off Blueberry Buckle, Igloo Ice Pops, Flying Frog Pudding, and much, much more. Delicious Desserts includes recipes you won't find anywhere else. It comes with wipe-off pages and your very own chef's hat. It's everything you need to make sweet treats for all of life's little celebrations.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 3-6 - Beery has attempted to create a fun and whimsical cookbook for children, but her effort falls short in terms of practicality and usability. The packaging is appealing; full-page, close-up photos feature an abundance of sugary pastel colors, and the book comes with an actual child-size chef's hat. However, the recipes are uneven, ranging from crafty (coating food with chocolate and sprinkles) to complicated (a version of baked Alaska - minus the flames and alcohol). Most include pre-made foods like frozen pie crusts, cake mixes, refrigerator biscuits, or pound cake. Although the crafts look beautiful in the photographs, some children may find the visual introduction of ingredients confusing. Jane Bull's The Cooking Book (DK, 2002) is a better choice. - Genevieve Gallagher, Murray Elementary School, Charlottesville, VA
