This review is from: Battery-Biz AC Adapter for Dell Inspiron 1100, 5100, 8200, Latitude C600, and ADP-90FB (AC-C52H) (Personal Computers)
I have purchased three of these adapters and have had to return them all. Same problem - all have worked upon initial hook-up. One failed within 24 hours - the next a few days later and the last one prevailed for about 10 days. They simply quit working.
The manufacturer goes to great lengths detailing how the wiring has been reinforced - but it's at the WRONG connection. These adapters <from Dell> have a notorious problem of failing where the wiring connects to the adapter housing NOT where the wiring plugs into the laptop. The "one size fits all" approach to marketing this item didn't work for me - three times. Avoid this purchase if you have an Inspiron 8200. I gave up and ordered another from Dell. Undoubtedly it will fail within a year or so. DELL Inspiron 8200 AC Adapter

An AC Adapter that actually works,

This was my third order of an AC adapter. The first two were the incorrect voltage, even though both said they were compatable with my Dell Inspiron 8200. This one actually works.
My orginal cord broke right where it attached to the computer, and this one seems to be better reinforced. I understand this is a common problem with Dell laptop cords. This $60 replacement works well, better than the slightly cheaper ones I tried first, and without the $200 cost of replacing it straight from Dell.
