After misplacing the Canon battery charger that came with my Rebel Xti, I was resistant to spending the $40 it would have taken to replace the name brand charger. I'm so glad I took a chance on this charger instead. The battery life after the charges appears to be just as good as the original charger, and I can charge the battery in a car now too. The only possible con I would mention is that the charger is thicker and may not fit as well into the space you reserved in your bag for the Canon version (if indeed you are replacing one). That said the charger is lighter than the Canon and therefore, in my opinion, even better.

There is nothing to hold the battery in place while charging. The battery falls out or moves away from the charging contacts when the charger is moved. I tried to secure it with rubber bands-an unsatisfactory and unsuccessful workaround.

Great purchase. Portable and works as advertised. I travel a lot and the european plug is an added bonus.

This definitely made me more than a little nervous. It was so darn cheap that I thought it probably would burn my house down or blow up the battery. My house is still standing and my battery is fully charged. It seems to me that the battery doesn't hold a charge for as long as it did before. But I can still get serveral days worth of pictures out of it before it needs to be charged again.

How're you gonna beat that deal? I thought I would be throwing a couple of bucks out the window buying a junky charger but figured "What the heck? I spend that much on my morning coffee". The charger seems to work fine. I read some reviews that said it doesn't hold the battery tightly enough but haven't had any problem with that. I would have given 5 stars all around except for the fact that the car charger doesn't make a good connection with the unit and is worthless. It only works if you hold it in a very specific position and, even then, only if the stars and planets are in perfect alignment. I ended up throwing the car charger piece away and just use the charger at home in an outlet. And even though I threw out the car charger attachment, I still don't feel obliged to skip my morning coffee to make up for the loss! Well worth the money.

I used this on a few vacations this year and it worked fine. It was a life saver on a couple of camping trips to get the battery charged back up after a long day of shooting.

This is great help when on the road and forget to charge the battery at the hotel, or need to charge before I get back to the room.

Got to me fast and the charger is awesome, especially when it comes to being able to charge the battery in my car when on my way to a show to shoot pictures.

Forgot to review this product in time. But it was good from other hand. Now I have it for 6 months and so far like it very much and recommend for others.

I plugged this charger in to use it for a second time, and within 5 minutes it started to smoke and pop and spark. Luckily, I was standing next to the charger when this happened, or else I am a little afraid of what might have happened. This is unacceptable.

In addition, the manufacturing tolerances are not good, as the Canon NB-2L battery just slides into place on this charger, and if it is placed on a wall, it will just slide out. Awful product, avoid it at all costs.
