Bought this with intent on using it for my parrot ziks extra battery, it works perfectly. Have not tryed it with other batteries but as long as fits i don't see why it wouldn't work with those too. Easy to keep 1 charger on you instead of multiple ones. Great product considering parrot doesn't sell one, dont get that losing out on all that extra money. But good for us consumers.

1. I've had several universal lithium ion battery chargers, all by Lenmar and they all work.
2. Actually, just to back up a bit, if you're someone who has only one device (with battery) to charge, then you may not want / need this; you might be content with using the charger that came with your particular device. However, if you're someone with multiple devices, who travels and doesn't want to carry different battery chargers, cords etc... then you should definitely consider a universal charger.
3. Here are my brief impressions of this unit:
a. It's definitely the most simplest and least bulky universal charger via Lenmar. I've owned the more popular Mach1 Lenmar universal charger as well as their other one (I forgot the name), but they all require specific battery plates for your specific battery. Thus, one would then have to pack up several battery plates along with the charger etc... With this unit, you don't need to purchase battery plates, because you have to determine (ie move) the contacts on the charger so as to touch the + / - contacts on the battery (ie a fairly easy thing to do). The unit itself is fairly light, fairly compact / small, it closes up nicely and the associated AC cord is fairly compact.
b. Ease of use: once you read the very very brief "manual", and figure out that all you have to do is move the contacts on the unit so as to correspond to the + /- contacts on the battery, then it becomes a no brainer. The first time you do it, you'll wonder if you're doing it right but after talking to lenmar they recommend, first attaching the batter / contacts etc...

I bought this to try and charge my Parrot ZiK battery with out having to leave my computer on. Works perfectly for that task using a standard 110/220 outlet or 12v cigarette plug in the car. Will also charge other types of batteries. The LCD read out is a plus and the battery prongs are height adjustable for a perfect fit each and every time.

I put a 7.2V Panasonic Li-Ion camcorder battery onto this charger, carefully aligning the pins to match + & - on the battery. The charger insisted that it was a 6.0V NiMH/NiCad battery pack, began to charge, then gave an error message. I tried this several times with the same message each time. It did work with a 3.7V Li-Ion battery.

The problem with the charger is that it is unable to distinguish between NiMH/NiCad batteries and Li-Ion batteries.
There is no switch for the user to make that choice. Apparently the charger attempts to decide the battery type based on the voltage of the battery pack. Unfortunately, a discharged 7.2V Li-Ion pack can be as low as 6V, the same as a five cell (5 x 1.2V) NiMH pack. I measured the voltage of the 7.2V battery with a volt meter and it was around 7.1V, so the charger was clearly defective.

I don't think I received a defective unit, it's simply a poorly designed product. I cannot imagine many people putting up with this type of design with the sliding and up and down contact adjustment.

The instructions are very sparse, with no information as to what to do if you do get an error message.

It's going back to Amazon. Lenmar has a one year warranty but they charge $10 "handling" to send it back.

Maybe 4 stars, I am not sure. I've never had a battery recharger like this one. It only recharges 2 AA or AAA batteries at at time, which, however is actually NOT a downside.

This charger recharges batteries so fast and lets you know on the led screen when done, I kinda feel like it didn't really work. My standard 4 battery wall recharger takes HOURS and I usually leave them overnight.

This one, I left the room, and next time I came back in, 2 totally depleted recharge AA batteries were full and done.

CON: The front slides open on a spring so you can fit whatever size battery in before the spring holds the top open just enough for your battery to be snugly fit in (like a regular recharger).

But you have to really line up the to grey sliding cathodes (electrical poles) on the top to line up just perfectly with your battery side. Harder than it sounds since they are kinda loose and side a bit.

And yes you have to raise or lower the gray sliders on top to just meet the batteries (there is a + and - ... so they go in reverse). The + end of a battery has that little protruding which is really hard to get the gray sliders to line up and stay just so they are touching the + end of one of the batteries.

As for raising and lowering the tip, there is a little scroll wheel that easily does it. But it also easily slips out of place, especially, again on the batter with the + facing forward.

Finally the to parallel AA or AAA batteries as you see lined up in the picture are set in a very shallow groove to position. the grooves are NOT in fact parallel. So the v shape of the 2 batteries needing to line up perfectly with the sliding grey anodes, and not slip until the top spring door can slide back in place ....
