This battery pack appears to be identical to another one sold on Amazon for $38.79. I suggest you go with this cheaper listing at $23.37. I did and was pleasantly surprised by how much play time it provided for my Philips 9000 portable DVD. Nearly 6 hours. At least, that's after the first charging up; hopefully it will stay this strong. If it weakens in the future, I will amend this review.

Note, I was not even using energy conservation practices.
1) I have a 9" not a 7" player
2) I had the sound cranked up on max rather than using headphones
3) I had the lighting on normal rather than dimmed. People who are energy savers may do better than 6 hours.

Still, I wish this device had a light that told you when it was fully charged and I nearly downgraded it to 4 stars for that reason. But for the price you can't expect to get everything. I'm just pleased with the amount of power it stores.

Addendum JAN 19, 2012 I liked this product so much I ordered two more. One performed as well as the original, i.e. 6 hours of power. The other was a dud - totally nonfunctional right out of the box. So now I have to pack and mail back the item to Amazon. I guess it's a real crapshoot with these made in China devices.

I bought this battery as a back-up for a portable DVD player my kids use while flying.

The battery works as described and comes with a variety of tips. The cord doesn't wrap neatly when the tips are on, but that is a minor detail.

I subtracted a star because it is fairly heavy.

Overall, it was a good purchase; but, if I had to replace it, I would look for one that was a little lighter.

It worked great on a portable DVD palyer for my son on international flights, it would be great if they would add some kind of light alert that would tell you when the battery is running low or somthing like that. Other wise, does what it is supposed to!
