T61 owners may find their batteries failing very suddenly; mine did after only 50 recharge cycles. Lenovo did a recall (see [...]), but no Lenovo service rep had ever heard of it and, even though the battery lot number (FRU) matched those subject to recall, Lenovo wouldn't do anything for me.So, an hour wasted on 2 calls with 4 Lenovo reps, it was off to Amazon. This battery fits fine, works as expected, costs 1/3 of the Lenovo alternative. The only problem was with a new ThinkVantage software update that kept reminding me that the battery wasn't a genuine Lenovo product. Just get rid of the ThinkVantage power management application, let Windows handle it, and you'll be fine.

This battery was a big dissapointment. They claimed it would meet or exceed the OEM specifications. I will have to buy an OEM battery from Lenovo. The first week of use gave me an average of 3 hours, running a reasonable amount of applications on Windows 7. But now going into the second week it barely holds 2 hours charge, before I have to plug the laptop in. I would not recomend using the battery.

I bought this battery about six months ago as a replacement for my lenovo thinkpad t60. For the first 6 months it worked like a dream, looking and performing just like my standard 9-cell from lenovo. It does jut out of the back of your laptop, but trust me it's a small price to pay for the better battery life. I get a good 3 hours using wifi and the screen on full brightness, I'm sure you could squeeze out more if you tried. Most importantly, the battery is about $100 cheaper than what you can get on the lenovo website. But just yesterday, I got home from a weeklong trip and realized I had left my laptop on standby and the battery had ran out. I've done this before and usually it works fine, but this time the computer would always freeze when booting and wouldn't start up. I ran checkdisks and did a system repair from the OS disc and nothing came up. Then I took out the battery, put in the stock lenovo battery, and started it up again. Everything worked fine. Somehow the AGPTEK battery was preventing the computer from working properly. The battery didn't mess up my computer since it runs fine with the stock battery, but I can't use the battery itself anymore. UPDATE: DON'T BUY THIS BATTERY The second AGPTEK battery I got is just as inconsistent as the first one. When it gets below 10%, the computer dies, not even going into standby. This is very bad for your computer. I've had this happen twice, and luckily nothing has been damaged so far. It also means the battery is misleading, since it only has 90% of the advertised capacity. I would not buy this battery, stick with the genuine lenovo battery or a different 3rd party, but not this one. UPDATE II A couple months after I got my second battery, it had a similar problem. The computer would die randomly when running on battery, even if the battery was well-charged. And now my computer doesn't even boot with the AGPTEK battery in, but works fine with the stock lenovo one. You're in for nothing but headaches with this battery, the low price isn't worth the wasted time.
