5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, good value
T61 owners may find their batteries failing very suddenly; mine did after only 50 recharge cycles. Lenovo did a recall (see [...]), but no Lenovo service rep had ever heard of it and, even though the battery lot number (FRU) matched those subject to recall, Lenovo wouldn't do anything for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Performing Lenovo Laptop Replacement Battery
This battery was a big dissapointment. They claimed it would meet or exceed the OEM specifications. I will have to buy an OEM battery from Lenovo. The first week of use gave me an average of 3 hours, running a reasonable amount of applications on Windows 7. But now going into the second week it barely holds 2 hours charge, before I have to plug the laptop in. I would not...

So, an hour wasted on 2 calls with 4 Lenovo reps, it was off to Amazon. This battery fits fine, works as expected, costs 1/3 of the Lenovo alternative. The only problem was with a new ThinkVantage software update that kept reminding me that the battery wasn't a genuine Lenovo product. Just get rid of the ThinkVantage power management application, let Windows handle it, and you'll be fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Owned 2 separate batteries, both failed, July 20, 2010

This review is from: AGPTEK Li-ion Battery [7200MAH 9 Cells] For IBM LENOVO ThinkPad (ONLY for Laptops of 14.1" & 15.0" standard screens and 15.4" widescreen) (Electronics)
I bought this battery about six months ago as a replacement for my lenovo thinkpad t60. For the first 6 months it worked like a dream, looking and performing just like my standard 9-cell from lenovo. It does jut out of the back of your laptop, but trust me it's a small price to pay for the better battery life. I get a good 3 hours using wifi and the screen on full brightness, I'm sure you could squeeze out more if you tried. Most importantly, the battery is about $100 cheaper than what you can get on the lenovo website.
But just yesterday, I got home from a weeklong trip and realized I had left my laptop on standby and the battery had ran out. I've done this before and usually it works fine, but this time the computer would always freeze when booting and wouldn't start up. I ran checkdisks and did a system repair from the OS disc and nothing came up. Then I took out the battery, put in the stock lenovo battery, and started it up again. Everything worked fine. Somehow the AGPTEK battery was preventing the computer from working properly. The battery didn't mess up my computer since it runs fine with the stock battery, but I can't use the battery itself anymore.
UPDATE: DON'T BUY THIS BATTERY
The second AGPTEK battery I got is just as inconsistent as the first one. When it gets below 10%, the computer dies, not even going into standby. This is very bad for your computer. I've had this happen twice, and luckily nothing has been damaged so far. It also means the battery is misleading, since it only has 90% of the advertised capacity. I would not buy this battery, stick with the genuine lenovo battery or a different 3rd party, but not this one.
UPDATE II
A couple months after I got my second battery, it had a similar problem. The computer would die randomly when running on battery, even if the battery was well-charged. And now my computer doesn't even boot with the AGPTEK battery in, but works fine with the stock lenovo one. You're in for nothing but headaches with this battery, the low price isn't worth the wasted time.

I bought this battery on march 6th. It's July 4th and the thing is already bad.

listen to the negative feedback here, this battery might be cheap, but it's because it's not very good.

Not only did this battery not hold a charge, but after returning over a month ago, I still have not been credited for the return. Seller does not respond to emails or follow the return policy. Had to use Amazon A-Z Guarantee.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shame on Lenovo, January 30, 2010

This review is from: AGPTEK Li-ion Battery [7200MAH 9 Cells] For IBM LENOVO ThinkPad (ONLY for Laptops of 14.1" & 15.0" standard screens and 15.4" widescreen) (Electronics)
Pro: The battery is working fine, I haven't pushed it far enough to see
exactly how long it will last. The price was very good.

Con: There were many failures on batteries in this model group and Lenovo
even had a recall with free replacements, but for some reason they chose not
to include this particular model.
Complaint # 2: In the old days when you had a battery going bad, you would
see less and less run time but you could muddle through until you had a chance
to replace it. This laptop does some kind of self-test, and when it decides
the battery is bad it won't let you start the computer. You are dead in the
water.

It's not bad for the price. The battery can last for 3 hours on average, but it goes off without notice sometimes.

2.0 out of 5 stars OK battery life, but will randomly shut down your computer, November 20, 2010
This review is from: AGPTEK Li-ion Battery [7200MAH 9 Cells] For IBM LENOVO ThinkPad (ONLY for Laptops of 14.1" & 15.0" standard screens and 15.4" widescreen) (Electronics)
Pro:
- I bought the AGPTEK battery for about 6 months now, and so far, it holds a charge pretty well ( 2.5 to 3 hrs )
- Cheap
Con:
- T60 now will randomly shut down even when the Windows 7 says there's 20%, 30%, etc. I know there's still life in the battery, b/c I will simply turn it back on, and it will last another 1 hr or so. This happens maybe once to twice while the laptop is on battery power. Most of the time, the computer will go to Hibernate mode.. but sometimes it will simply turn off.
- There's no indication in Windows 7 that the battery life is decreasing to a critical state. I'm also running IBM Lenovo's power management tools, but the battery is not properly recognized.

Recommend?
- I've seen a lot of people with the same problem.
- I haven't experienced the low charge problems yet, so I think I might still buy it.. even though it has this really annoying 'shut down' problem.
- Maybe best to spend a bit more for a non-generic battery that has better feedback. I'm still pretty cheap and won't buy the $100+ original battery for an older laptop.

Purchased in October 2009 for a Lenovo R61e. Worked fairly well for a few weeks and then range started to decrease rapidly. Now (July 2010) it only holds a charge for about 10 minutes. Worse yet, it does not work with lenovo's "alarm" system to warn you when the battery is low, it just shuts down. (Original lenovo battery lasted 2 years).
