Download the Manual for the S 4000 at Fuji (http://www.fujifilm.com/) It is an indepth manul unlike the "Reference Manual" that comes with the camera. A few quick tips: 1) The "Focus Lock". When you are taking a pic. of say two people. I have found that if you put the focus box in the lense on either of the faces, and depress the shutter button 1/2 way to get the focus, then pan over to frame both people for the final shot you will get a sharper pic. Sometimes the camer focuses on the background if you just focus on the center. (between the subjects) 2) Use the "Spot Metering" for this type of photo.
