The hurricane glass, base, and candle are all separate, which is nice because the battery pack is located under the candle. Therefor if you wanted to use the candle for something else it would be possible to do because of this feature

Decorative lamp, more than a useful one. I bought one of the LED battery operated table lamps for actual lighting function.

This is very pretty for what it does. Great that it has no cord.
