The good news: it works. My wife & daughter are in the habit of leaving minivan doors open and interior lights on, and thus draining the battery. After half a dozen early-morning jumpstarts I decided to try this, and it works as advertised.

The bad news: installing was kind of a pain in the butt. I managed to install it with the included parts but I should have just gone to the parts store for a longer ground cable.

The parts included various jumpers & extensions that had lots of bare metal. I used these on the positive battery connection, and didn't feel comfortable leaving them uninsulated. I used "liquid electrical tape" that i bought at my local hardware store; it's much like plasti-dip that i've seen used for tool handles. maybe even the same stuff.

Worse, when the battery finally died last winter, one of the metal brackets cracked while I was tightening it, so i wasn't able to reinstall it without a trip to the store, which i haven't gotten around to yet...really should have just bought that longer cable in the first place.

I put this on my battery a year ago - never tested it - and forgot all about it. Well tonight I went to my car to find there was no power when I turned the key. I realized my mistake when I looked over and saw the lights were switched on.

This was at 12:30AM in pouring rain so getting someone to come jump my car wasn't going to be easy. Then it hit me I had this little gadget on there.

Well I popped the trunk (Mazda Miata) and clicked the button. Sat back down, turned the key, and the car started right up! I'm very thankful for this device and recommend it for everyone. It is a bit pricey, but since running the battery down is hard on the battery you'll recoup some of the cost in battery longevity. Plus having your car jumped is usually never good on either car involved.

This is a great gadget to keep your battery from DRAINING especially if you have a parasitic drain. HOWEVER, BE AWARE that it will not work correctly if you actually have a bad battery. Even if you have 12V on the battery BUT you do not have the sufficient Cold Cranking Amps to start the vehicle it still will not start. This is only good to keep a battery from draining below 11.8 DC Volts. I have read reviews where people are saying it doesn't work and they had to replace the battery. Well if the battery is bad...it bad... This is a great to KEEP the battery from DRAINING below 11.8V from a parasitic drain or left on lights etc... READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
You may also have to make a special mounting bracket for some vehicles batteries with side post mounts. I had to make an aluminum flat bracket about 2" x 4" to mount on the side posts so it will fit correctly on my 2004 Suburban. It looks like it will fit "as is" on my other car and truck.

Ordered product as well as Vibration module for placement on 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2007 Chrysler Town n Country.
Product works a little too well. It would cut the battery flow during times of normal operation, example opening both sliding doors at same time while automatic headlights were still on.
It shut off the truck due to normal electronic function, example- stereo/DVD/Navigation units in off mode and automatic lights had not completed their timed shutdown.

We never had a dead battery. Just had to open the hood every morning to reset the Battery Brain switch.

Due to the numerous times the battery brain shut off the vehicle battery, the factory installed electronics started to have difficulty resetting to their original position, example- 6 disc CD player would kick out all the CD's as well as cycle through all channels before being able to start playing.

Product performs as advertised, a little to sensitive to normal volt drops.

I bought this product because I have an electrical issue in my 1994 Olds 88 LSS where my battery gets drained. I have tried to located the short, but haven't had any luck. Since this is my wife's vehicle, I can't have her stranded without the ability to start the car. Since installing the product (with the vibration sensor), it has saved her numerous times. I did not buy the version with the remote control, so she has to open the hood and manually hit the reset button. But I remind her that it is much better than having to wait for a tow truck to jump start the car.

Installation went fairly smooth, with exception to getting the module attached to the battery. The reson for the difficulty was because I use the side posts on the battery, and thus I don't have much wiggle room for everything. I actually pulled the battery out of the car, connected the Battery Brain, then dropped the battery back into the car. Estimated install time - 30 minutes (could do the next one in half the time).

For the price of this unit, I wouldn't have been able to have a mechanic open the hood and look for 10 minutes.

When I get some free time, I'll investigate how to install the bypass so the radio presets don't get wiped out. But for now, I'm happy with the car just starting!

In the past I had three Priority Starts but at least one malfunctioned so I decided to try this. Mounting is more difficult than the Priority Start. In order to still use the battery cover I mounted it upside down. The brackets and other pieces allow this. There is a black wire that I spliced into the brake level sensor wire, which has 12 volts when the engine is running. This prevents a temporary reduction in voltage from operating accesories from disconnecting the battery. There is also a wire to bypass the battery protector to keep your clock or radio settings but this allows the battery to possible go dead and you need to figure out where to connect it so I didn't use it. Other models of this allow remote reconnect either with a wireless remote or with a wired reset button. To reset this one you have to open the hood, remove the reset button cover and push the reset button. I haven't had a low battery since I installed it so I can't say if it actually works.
