Quite good!,

This review is from: The Battle of Cantigny (Cornerstones of Freedom: Second) (Library Binding)
The Cornerstones of Freedom series tells the stories of defining moments in American history. This book is about the Battle of Cantigny. In 1918, during the last great German offensive of World War I, the American Army launched an attack on the occupied town of Cantigny, took it from the Germans, and held it for three days against determined German counterattacks, demonstrating that the American Army had what it took to face the Germans on their own. This book tells the story of the attack, from what led up to it, through the entirety of the battle.
Overall, I must say that I found this to be a pretty good book. I did not know anything about the Battle of Cantigny, and this book gave me a pretty clear understanding of just what happened and why. Yes, it is a "young adult" book, but nonetheless, it was certainly good enough for me. So, if you want a quick, but thorough, introduction to the Battle of Cantigny, then get this book, it's quite good! |
