TRAINING IN THE MOUNTAINS,
By Sesho "www.sesho.libsyn.com" (Pasadena, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Battle Club Volume 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Mokichi and Tamako's training regimen is beginning to stagnate a bit until Kuniko Mukouda, a deadly wrestler from Black Dragon High School shows up to test them! Even if they survive their fight with Mukouda, their training is just beginning as the old man who serves as their counselor tells them about Higashi, the former coach of the Swan wrestling team that led them to 8 straight All-Japan championships but is now retired and living in the mountains of Shinsuu. Tamako and the team head out on a quest to find the revered master in order to increase their skills.
Battle Club Volume 2 continues the same formula started in the first volume of tons of graphic fan service combined with absurd but somehow realistic combat. It's really amusing how Shiozaki, no matter the wrestling pose, somehow manages to include the angle that shows the most nudity or erotic bulges and crevices. In each panel you're left wondering what part of the female he's going to tease you with next. On top of that, the creator does a good job of satirizing a lot of manga like Ranma 1/2 with its ridiculous training regimens which is very funny, even making Tamako fight a panda! I'm still trying to figure out what Higuchi's exact sexuality is. This is a fun and sexy series that you shouldn't take too seriously. |
