4.0 out of 5 stars Coral Sea
Not a bad book. Simple and easy to understand. Many photos. I was suprised at the number of typos. Simple mistakes but they did (for me) detract from the book.

Definitely a book for a younger reader to build their interest and knowledge of Coral Sea.

I recommend.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good enough!
This book has left me much unimpressed.
The actual battle has been given second place.
The book is full of photos, many of them of poor quality and repeated several times, giving the impression of being just padding. This goes for many of the diagrams.
But the most disappointing feature is that the proof reader must have been a blind junior student...

2.0 out of 5 stars Riddled with errors, May 10, 2009
This review is from: The Battle of the Coral Sea (Paperback)
I was disappointed with this book. Although it was printed in 2003, it contains many of the same inaccuracies from books printed 30 to 40 years ago. For example, the book says that Yorktown staged four air attacks on Tulagi. Actually, it was only three. The books says that B-26 bombers attacked Crace's convoy. Actually, it was three B-17s. The book says that the Japanese lost a light cruiser. The Japanese lost no cruisers in or around this battle. I could list more. Henry's book does contain a lot of nice pictures, but most of those pictures are now available on the Internet anyway. To anyone looking for a more up to date and accurate book on the battle I would suggest John Lundstrom's "Black Shoe Carrier Admiral".
