Book two of the Robotech series. I like these books more than I thought I would. The story is action packed with a continuing story line. The whole "Miss Macross" pageant thing was a little monotonous for me but the the story is really taking me in. I am going to read the third book now to see what happens. The book is a quick read and entertaining. No deep thought involved. Great for those times I want to take a break from philosophy, science and history reading.

This is the second in the Robotech series. And is one of my favorites. It takes place shortly after they spacefold, and starts off with them trying to get back to earth space. Robotech's detailed back stories and shocking story twists are awsome. If your not a robotech fan, then you will be. But I suggest you read #1 (Genesis) before this one, so you will know what is going on. One problem I have with the book, and all the robotech books, is the typos. There is a good few of them. It's not bad enough to matter much though, so I wouldn't worry about it!

Very good story line! VERY well written. If you're a Robotech fan buy and read this!!

Second in a quartet featuring the First Generation of humans
to battle the gigantic Zentraedi, BATTLE CRY continues the romantic saga of Rick Hunter, a daredevil flyboy, and Minmei, the teenage singing idol. Rick's seemingly cool commander, Lisa Hayes, has is developing a hate-love relationship with him as well-further confusing the cocky hero. Promoted to Lt. with his own two subordinates in tow, Rick has more serious issues as the evil aliens plot to trap the earth ships and destroy our home planet.

The action is fast-paced, as diabolical schemes are cleverly foiled and clever countermeasures cause confusion on both sides. These Micronians are unpredictable, which makes things even more interesting for Breetai and the Zentraedi warlords. The mighty SDF-1, which had crashed on Earth at Macross Island, has been retrofitted for its new human-sized crew and the unexpected 50,000 civilians aboard this floating city. But the Zentraedi live in terror that the Micronians will discover the secret of their size and technology: protoculture! This sacred element remains hidden somewhere in the traveling fortress. Of course all the ships can reconfigure in various forms, if you remember Transformers-those popular toys of the 80`s.

This is pure escapist reading, with no obvious moral message, but it is fun. Just what is the secret link between the monster race, their hinted-at Robotech masters and the folks of Earth? Keep reading the entire series to learn the shocking truth!

This is a very interesting book. As expected, it picks up where the first book, Genesis, has left off. It is also very close to being as good as Genesis, and if you enjoyed reading Genesis, then you will most certainly enjoy reading Battle Cry. After reading these two, I bought practically all of the Robotech books that included the first generation. Definitely a must for any Robotech fan!
