Pretty good game for a day when you just want be mindless,

I really liked the game for it's simplistic gameplay. It has a lot of subtlety to it but still remains simple. The story mode is cute if you are the type that chuckles at character interactions. I can see it being fun with a lot of friends but I can also see the extremely odd characters putting off people. While it probably isn't making it onto my favorite fighting game list, it has a lot of charm and is easy to pick up. That part I like a lot because it means that friends can learn it without having to study up like they would for most other fighting games. It is a bit of a return to simpler times, like the old street fighters or samurai showdown.

Great Unique Fighter,

I loved Battle Fantasia. I'm an old school fighting game fan and I've been playing since the first arcade iteration of SFII. I'm a huge fan of unique characters and artwork and this game has them in spades. Not to mention pretty complex gameplay mechanics if you take the time to get into it. What's so great about Battle Fantasia is even a novice can play and win with great results.... and a more advanced player can really delve into the deeper mechanics. The storylines were pretty interesting and quirky as well.
At a less than $20 price point now is the time to pick up the title if you haven't already.

Not half bad for an old school type fighter,

I absolutely loved this game. It's a simplistic return to old school fighters. Considering this came from the creators of the guilty gear franchise, I was expecting it to be a fast paced, thumb blistering affair that requires cat like reflexes to get through the game. I was suprised to learn that it actually had more in common with street fighter more than guilty gear.
I'm not a huge fan of playing fighting games on the Xbox 360, as the joystick to me feels a little too loose and the D-pad is a nightmare to use due to its placement on the controller, but the characters control really well and are very responsive with the Joystick. The game has a lot of really quirky and weird characters that are set in a fantasy type scenario. Truly, many of these characters are for most intents and puposes old-school-type RPG characters. The game balances itself pretty well and the characters are well balanced and easy to learn. However, it only loses one star in my opinion becuase of the tried and true (and somewhat annoying) formula of putting super cheap last boss characters into the game. Granted, with enough practice you can beat him, but in order to do so, you have to be cheap yourself. The game has really good music, and also seems like something that stepped out of an RPG. All in all it's a great game and I thought it was well worth the buy.
