The Truth toward the Islamic "Faith",
By A Customer
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Hardcover)
The Islamic faith is one of the greatest threat to both Jewish and Christian life, besides politically correct groups such as the ACLU and other antiChristian liberals (like the Humanists, NOW, NARAL, etc.). All over the Middle East and Africa, Muslims strive to bring about a reign of terror--rape and murder. Their core belief is not a holy belief, but a belief that seeks to wipe out all challengers. In the center of the war between God's truth and Satan's lies, is Jerusalem. Jerusalem, bottom line, belongs to the Jews. It is not theirs to share with opponents of God. In John Hagee's book, "The Battle for Jerusalem," Hagee explains point by point the treat of the Islams and how they are helping (unknowingly) to bring in the final days of the Earth. Indeed, the end of time is close at hand as violence spreads across God's holy land due to the evils of the Palestinians. Let it be known, as John Hagee specifically shows, that the Palestinians are out to destroy the Jews. The Palestinians are from the Father of Lies...no doubt about it... Christians must come together and pray for the safety of the Jews. The Jews are God's holy people, it was through them that God came forth as Jesus Christ to spread the message of Good News...of Heaven and truth and salvation.

Jerusalem. The Truth Is Out There.,
By
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Paperback)
The revelations in this captivating book by John Hagee should be accessed by people of all faiths, with their impact being of such a wide ranging & immense significance that they will ultimately affect us all.The author confirms the claims of the Hebrew prophets of the Old Testament that in the `latter days', Jerusalem will be again be at the epicentre of world events and `a cup of trembling' to the nations. John Hagee tackles this issue head on and pulls no punches as he presents a fascinating insight into current events, the Middle East `peace process', Jerusalem, the Temple Mount plus the potential conflicts facing us all involving weapons of mass destruction. All of these issues and more being examined in the light of what the Scriptures ultimately declare for the times ahead of us. The writer stresses that his primary purpose is to convey an understanding to readers of the age-old divisions still tearing the Holy Land apart, and how these relate to the future of Jerusalem and the region as a whole. The roots of the conflict are studied in some depth. The writer examining the `Palestinian issue', the history of the `Palestinian' people, Yasser Arafat, the whole Arab-Israeli conflict and the realms/consequences of International involvement. The issue of the coming Third Temple in Jerusalem is also tackled in the light of the prophesied Anti-christ. Not least of the subjects addressed is that of the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. Many readers will be aware that during the Nazi Holocaust, musicians were forced to play calming music at the entrance to the death camp of Auschwitz to mask the horror awaiting the Jews as they passed through that infamous gate en route to annihilation. From this study we can see an alarming parallel to our modern times which the writer illustrates so well. Today's orchestra, comprising of the likes of Bush, Blair, Chirac, Annan, Arafat, & co., all dutifully supported in harmony by the media. Each shown to purvey a modern symphony pacifying & reassuring the Jewish people who are currently being coerced along the new deceptive route to genocide paved with counterfeit pledges of 'peace'. To elaborate we see from this work how the Israelis are being betrayed into believing the `lie' that by surrendering their eternal Biblical homeland to the Arabs who have taken the name `Palestinian', then the Jewish people will receive recognition, a cessation of terrorism and ultimately `peace'. The writer ably demonstrating with accurate references to Scripture that no such peace under these terms can ever be achieved. One will discover through this study that the same Bible that promised the Holy Land as an eternal, Divine inheritance to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob (Israel) also proclaimed the consequences of `dividing up' God's Land. ("I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgement against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land." - Joel 3;v2). The outcome of International interference, pressure and any Israeli capitulation clearly not being peace but war, destruction and judgement upon the nations responsible who rebelled against the Written Word and Purpose so clearly defined. One needs to read and re-read the sections of this book devoted to these particular issues. Since the horrific terrorist atrocities of September 11 2001, John Hagee has in fact released an `updated' version of this book entitled "Attack On America. New York, Jerusalem & The Role Of Terrorism In The Last Days." To those readers who find obtaining a copy of " Battle For Jerusalem", then perhaps the aforementioned update would be suitable as it does contain the backbone of what is included in the earlier work. Having heard John Hagee speak and having studied the Middle East for many years, I can confirm that the writer has a commendable grasp of the region's history which he ably demonstrates here. His accurate revelations from a Christian perspective make for an awesome read. Recommended.

What's Happening in the Middle East? Why Should We Care?,
By Harold Y. Grooms (Prattville, AL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Hardcover)
Evangelist John Hagee states his reasons for writing at the beginning of this work: "I want you to understand the age-old divisions that are still tearing the Holy Land apart. I want you to be able to distinguish between truth and propaganda in the media reports, and I want you to understand God's plan for his Holy city."He then answers these questions in light of Bible prophesy. The result is a complete analysis of events in the Middle East, past and present, from a Christian perspective. His analyses provide answers to some of the most perplexing questions troubling the world today. Hagee affirms the Jews' role as, "Gods Chosen People," from the time of Abraham until the present day. Historically no nation that has oppressed these people has escaped divine retribution. He states Yasser Arafat and his Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) will be no different. Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are sacred to Christians, Moslems, and Jews. Hagee shows why this small piece of real estate is such a source of controversy and the key role it holds for the peace process now, and in the future. Hagee then affirms prophesy that predicts a major war in the Middle East. He feels this war will be between Russia and her Arab allies, and Israel, stemming from Arab hatred of Israel and Russia's never ending quest for a warm water sea-port and her desire to return to a position of world prominence. He ends with a discussion of the rise of the Anti-Christ and his proclamation of himself as "God" in a rebuilt Jewish Temple. In only 254 pages, Dr. Hagee explains events, past and present, in light of Bible prophesy. I cannot say I enjoyed reading this book. The events predicted are far from pleasant, but as my former boss once said, "Bad news isn't fine wine. It doesn't get better with age." Christians can gain insight into what's happening and why in the Middle East by reading this work. Even if you don't claim to be a Chris!tian I recommend you read this book and ask, what other plausible explanations exist for the unrest the world is witnessing there today? Finally ask yourself, "What if it is really true?"

Everyone needs to read this book!,
By Teri Knecht (Bakersfield, California United States) - See all my reviews

We, as Christians, need to understand how much Jerusalum and the Jewish people mean to us. The book of Romans tells us that the Jewish people are the roots of our religion and we are the branches. This book has answered so many of my questions about the conflict between the Arab nations and Israel. John Hagee explains in simple terms why Jerusalem is the center of the world and why we should be concerned about what happens there. You'll learn how the Arab religion perceives Jesus and the end of times compared to Jews and Christians. It's absolutely fascinating and I highly recommend this to everyone.

It might be important to realize that we all may have migrated from Jerusalem between the time of Genesis and Exodus before you read this book. I don't want to give away spoilers but for those interested in buying the book let me give you an idea of what you'll read. The book tells us that what happens in the Middle East will effect us here in the U.S. You'll learn the history of the conflict from the time of Roman Occupation to the chaos of the new millenium. You'll also learn about interesting topics such as the Anti-Christ, the second coming of our Lord, the New Jerusalem/the thousand year reign. Pastor Hagee did an excellent job on this book!! It should be read in it's entirety quite often, I believe that it will bring to light a new understanding of the bible and this life for you.

Historical & Biblical Perspective of Jerusalem,
By W & T Perry "mr. and mrs. qc" (New River Valley, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Paperback)
Pastor Hagee does a good job of bringing out historical and biblical references to Jerusalem. Covered in this book is the recent history of the quarrels between Israel and the PLO, since Israel became a nation in 1948. The roots of this holy land stem back to Abraham's time in the Bible. Hagee adds good detail to what actually has happened since 1948 in Israel, and the fact that Arafat and the Muslims will not be satisfied until Israel and Jerusalem are their own. Hagee also goes into the history of Jerusalem and what to expect in the future per Biblical prophecy. If you have read Hagee's "From Daniel to Doomsday", or any of his other prophecy books, you will recognize quite a bit, as he mentions the same thing. Great book due to the historical insight to the Mid-East conflict and Bible prophecy and its ties to Jerusalem and Israel.

A Work of Disturbing Imagination,
This review is from: The Battle for Jerusalem (Paperback)
In the Battle for Jerusalem, John Hagee, a founder and senior pastor of the 17,000-strong Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, TX and president of Global Evangelism Television, declares that he wants readers "to understand the age-old divisions that are still tearing the Holy Land apart" and "to be able to distinguish between truth and propaganda in the media reports" (pg. viii). A supporter of Israel, he denounces men like Yasser Arafat, who he calls "a thug so repugnant" and claims that Arabs believe that "violence pays" (pg. 3, 8). More surprisingly, he asserts that the Antichrist "is alive at this moment and knows his satanic assignment" and that "the rapture is literal, Armageddon is an actual battle, and the Antichrist is a living breathing person whom the Bible calls the chief son of Satan" (pg. 161-62). He emphasizes that the Antichrist "will come from the European Union and be a man of `fortresses' or military might" (pg. 178).In 263 pages of pure nonsense, John Hagee expects people to believe his every word. With an annual pay of over one million dollars, he must be rather successful in spreading his propaganda. He calls Ariel Sharon a great man, even though one must recall how the Kahan Commission, established by the Israeli government, found Sharon personally responsible for the deaths of 700 to 3,500 Palestinian civilians at Sabra and Shatila in 1982. A biblical literalist, he believes that slavery, rape, kidnapping, murder, and genocide are morally justified because they are sanctioned by the Bible (see Leviticus 25:44-46, Judges 21:10-24, Deuteronomy 22:28-29, and 1 Samuel 15:2-3, for instance). He even believes that "murder, adultery, and a host of other sins" are tolerable as long as one "drew near to God" (pg. 158). It is absurd and outrageous for Hagee to claim that the Antichrist will originate from the European Union. He fails to understand that NATO is an American-led organization and that the United States has many European allies. The powerful economic incentive of their union prevents European nations from conducting massive wars against others and is the reason why there has been peace for so long in Western Europe. While he prefers Israel over Muslim countries, Hagee fails to realize that the Holocaust has its historic roots in Christianity. Adolf Hitler even declared that his "feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. [...] how terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. [...] As a Christian, I have also a duty to my own people." (Speeches of Adolf Hitler, Oxford University Press, 1942). Hagee seems to tolerate the sacrifice of Jews during the end of times and quotes Gershom Gorenberg, who claims that "Christians will safely exit to the wings" but "the Jews will find themselves at the center of the apocalypse" (pg. 218). Moreover, he forgets that Jews do not accept Jesus Christ and would strongly oppose his sense of Christian domination. Hagee asserts that "we have forgotten to do our duty -- to preach the gospel and win the lost, cast out demons and heal the sick, be filled with the Spirit, pull down the strongholds of sin and Satan, demolish the strongholds of witchcraft, Satanism, and pornography" (pg. 157). With a social agenda like that, he lacks the ability for critical thinking beyond petty matters. He adumbrates on such topics because he cannot articulate coherent ideas about society's more pressing issues -- i.e. improving healthcare, and spurring economic growth. [..]

Excellent,
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Paperback)
I read this book in one day, and could not put it down.If you agree with John Hagee's theology or not, the historican facts and biblical references are right on target. I have read many books written by authors presenting their spiritual message, in theory. John Hagee presents historican facts and religious references that you make take exception with but are undeniably accurate. While there will always be those who take varying stands on religion (i.e., the Scopes trial!), I know the same will happen here. None the less, read from any perspective, it is a well researched book to read. All you would need is an open mind. To read this with a preconceived Anti-Hagee sentiment would be fruitless. As I've heard it said, if you are against an issue anything will be grounds to disagree with it. This was an excellent book.

Almost nothing in this book is real and the conclusions this nutjob derives from his astoundingly bigoted viewpoints is that Christians have to help usher in a world war to murder all of the Jews so that his fictionalized christ can return to lalaland. These people are nuts.

AWESOME!!!!! You need this book......,
This review is from: The Battle For Jerusalem (Hardcover)
This book was written subsequent to the 2000 presidential election. It is ultra-timely. I am reading it for a second time right now. Pastor Hagee is almost prophetic in his assessment of the situation to this very day. A must read!!!!!
