Good collection of eyewitness accounts,

This review is from: The Battle of Kings Mountain: Eyewitness Accounts (Paperback)
This collection of eyewitness accounts of the battle and its aftermath is quite good. It could have used a map of the battle and an overview of the campaign (not included) to make it 5 stars. When will the History Press quit using silly reenactor photos to illustrate books!?!??!

This review is from: The Battle of Kings Mountain: Eyewitness Accounts (Paperback)
The Battle of Kings Mountain by Robert M Dunkerly brings the battle to life with letters from people who eyewitness the battle. The problem I had was that the book that it repeats the same story from differnt people who saw the same things over and over again. I think that story leading to the battle and about the people that fought at Kings Mountain and the letters would have been move effective bring a more complete and interesting look into the battle. When you have such interesting people as Major Patrick Ferguson as the leader of Loyalist and Rebel leaders as Colonel Shelby, Colonel William Campbell the leader of the American forces, John Sevier and many other colorful men it would have made this book alot more interesting.
