I was able to pick this up while free. It is 457 locations on the Battle of Roanoke Island, off the coast of N. Carolina during the Civil War.
The author does a nice job of summing up the political and military problems the Confederacy faced. The Chicamacomico Races seemed to be looking for a Benny Hill soundtrack in my head. The doomed nature of the Confederate resistance is tragic, and compared to the overwhelming material and might prepared by the Union, seemed to sum up the Civil War in a nutshell. I never would have known, without this history, that Roanoke Island was the largest naval invasion by the United States up to that point in time.
The illustrations are a nice touch.
Grab if you have any interest in the Civil War.
