Product Description

Welcome to the Battle of the Sexes, the board game version of the popular radio contest that's become an international hit. Play the game that's all about defending your gender and finding out, once and for all, which is the superior sex - Male or Female?Test your knowledge of the opposite sex with a series of gender-based questions. Does she know what an odometer is? Does he know how to stop a run in her pantyhose? The first player or team to get their tokens to the other side of the board wins the game.To spice things up, the battle gets a little tougher with a series of wild cards which could either propel you to an easy victory for buying diamonds for her birthday, or send you catapulting backwards for borrowing his razor to shave your legs.

From the Manufacturer

Imagination Battle of the Sexes- Battle Continues Board Game, the battle continues with all new questions in the outrageous, hormonally-charged board game where the name of the game is to ultimately decide which is the superior sex - Male or Female? Does she know which two stars mariners navigate by? Does he know what a silpat is in cooking terms? This completely updated version of the classic game takes the battle to a whole new level. Watch out for the Wild Card spaces - you could be sent back or forward on the board. Be the first player or team to get your tokens to the other side of the board to be proclaimed the winner of the battle and, once and for all, the superior sex. 12 and above.

I owned the original older version of Battle of the Sexes but had gone through most of the questions already. The new game has more modern trivia which is great. The old version had a lot of irrelevant questions (a LOT of obscure cooking terms for the female questions). The board seems unneccessary and we only halfway use it. It would make more sense to simply keep score of which team answers the most correct questions. There are 3 questions per card, and I wish these were in order from least to most difficult. If you follow the game rules, often the first question on the card is impossible and so your turn is over. It is a really fun game though and one of our favortites to play at game night. There are always questions that are obvious to the women but not men and vice versa. We play at least once every couple of weeks.

I bought this game looking at the questions on the back of the box thinking it would be a really funny game. There are no questions anywhere near like the box shows and it was really hard. We had six adults playing and no one enjoyed it.

purchased this game for couples party. have played versions of this before. was very disappointed with the question type. thought it would be more "fun" trivia instead it's a lot of pop culture, science, movies, etc ---too much like a game of trivia pursuit. which i already have several versions of that game, was looking for something fun and different.

We've played the original "Battle of the Sexes" for a few years and thought it was a decent addition to "game night" so when we saw this we thought what the heck... we'd update and try the new one.

The best parts of this game are the same as the best parts of the original: it's a trivia game pitting the ladies versus the men - with each team asked questions that would normally be considered of interest to the opposite sex.

The set-up and basic game is basically the same as the original - which is okay, but there are areas where we noticed this game was less fair, less fun, and frankly sexist compared to the original - or to what the game COULD be.

Examples:

1. Less fair - Maybe they could have made "country specific" versions of the game. The average American man OR woman - or even extremely intelligent professional American sports journalist, is not likely to know the leader in career batting average in Test Cricket. But the ladies got the question that every man readily admitted they did not know.

2. Sexist: after a few questions the Mrs. asked "What do they think women DO all day??? Sit around watching soap operas and reading gossip magazines???" While the "male" questions might be about Nelson Mandela, the "female" questions are more likely to be about "General Hospital." All of us playing - an equal number of men and women with a variety of backgrounds and educations and professionas - agreed that the writers of the questions didn't seem to have a very high opinion of women compared to men. That's not a good starting place for a game like this.

We weren't so disgusted with it that we stopped playing - but this game is sliding to the back of the game-night rotation... and it's not likely to show back up again soon.

Played with friends. Questions were not interesting or based on female/male issues. Would not recommend this game to any of my friends.
